Edu, I think this design is, once again.. truly amazing. BUT! (yeah i managed to think about a but....)
Im wondering, all the used textures in the design are not web-suportive, you should use cifr or css3 on your complete website, wich will make it slow. Next to that your pulling out borders and shadows on about half the ammount of text in the design. The design is also to wide for 1024x768 users.. So basicly your not able to code out this design on a proper, SEO, valid way and keep the design like it is. Wich makes the design allot worse then it looks. Maybe you should start working on that mate, your choice of color, fonts, placements and spacing is trully amazing.
I dare to bet that when you get the designs more webready your going to make some badass amount of money on making these designs.

Some parts are really bad, which is what I don't understand - really poor contrast in menu. Seriously, what is that. Bad contrast in concent, and there is so much stuff, that it's one big mess. At last, I don't think those gradients and glows everywhere are necessary.

Do you have any suggestions? Really! I want tips, valuable suggestions that can help me improving not someone saying that the layout looks bad and that the contrast is bad, that I already know. So, if you want to help start suggesting me good ways to improve the concept.

Here is the problem - I think the whole concept is wrong. And unless you're willing to hire me as a consultant, I'm not going to spend hours constructing a functional layout for you. This isn't a case that some advice can improve - my only advice is, sit down and think about what really should be on site. Think about what you want people to do, when they visit your site. And beleive me, I have some experience designing portals, in fact, I've recently done a graphic portal, which, unlike yours (not that I would wish you that, but this really isn't ready for production environment), is going to be launched soon. So I know this isn't easy - you just have to take your time and think more about it.

I usually receive well critiques when they're well explained and when accomplished with good arguments. You don't explain why the concept is all wrong, if you say that a concept is wrong you must explain why it is wrong, not saying: "The whole concept is wrong because I think it is wrong and because I'm an expert and I know what I'm saying".
And BTW, this is not a portal. It's a blog theme.
Anyway, I'll give it more color because I think that is one of the problems with the design.

Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't looked at the design (I just read the comment) and mistook it for someone else's work. Then I don't understand you - I gave you my suggestions. Less content, focus more on important parts, and remove glowing effects at least at some parts. That shoud be enought.
