Description the patriarch of my largest legacy family is a Sith Lord turned Mercenary and pirate. during his life as a Sith, he was known as 'Darth Anubis, Lord of the Dead' for his much coveted ability to combine ritual sacrifice, battle meditation and other skills in order to resurect fallen bodies on the battle field and puppeteer corpses as an invincable army for a short tenure. When he was betrayed by one of his wifes, his family fell into ruin, but it was resurected by his son, the Sith Lord Darth Raa.

Age: At time of SWTOR: 18
Gender: Male
Affilation: Sith, Sith Empire, Revanite (former)
Titles: Lord, Darth Raa, Pharaoh Nebulosus I
Class Advanced Class, and Discipline: Sith Inquistor, Assassin, Deception

Personality:
Amun Raa is a very kindhearted and generous person, but cruel and unforgiving if he is crossed. He is shrewd and manipulative, possessing an ingenious tactical mind, which was developed over years of playing sith powergames. he is prone to sparring lives, knowing full well, that those spared can be brought into the fold of his own power structure, as other sith are far more cruel, and would simply kill them. his natural benevolence, therefore is tempered with a butal and efficient practicality. he sees no profit of any kind to senseless massacres, only that they will cause

"Tyrany causes violent inserections and costly rebellions. a person can only take so much before they crack. it is this way with Balmorra, Corellia, and every other world the Empire has conquered."

Amun Raa has often bought thousands of slaves, only to free them, and grant them Imperial Citizenship under his governance.  He is profoundly honorable, keeping his word, even to a fault, if it would cost him power. He always spares civilian lives, but only ever leaves one soldier alive to carry the message, his philosophy being that if someone intends to kill him, they are asking for death.  He beleives, as his father did,

"Compassion is not weakness, in the empire, it is strength, foolishness, and boldness. You will be challenged, you will be questioned. if they doubt you because of your mercy, let them recoil in fear because of your wrath. This duality is paramount for a Sith to Call himself merciful. Perhaps one day, i may wash my hands of the title of sith, and make my own destiny. for now, I am the heir of Darth Anubis. My Fury will serve as Both Sword, and Shield."

Amun Raa had learned compassion  and kindness from living among the revanites, strength and cruelty from a lust for vengeance against his mother, and all of this had been tempered and balanced by allies both kind, and treacherous. in the End, Amun Raa lived his life showing mercy to those around him, and cruelty to his enemies to hid a compassionate nature. he did not tolerate fools, and even while showing kindness to an innocent person, his training as a sith would echo in the back of his mind, about whethor this person could, or would ever repay him, and whethor that payment would be in the form of treachery or mercy he would not know. he was subsequently surprised once, when a Republic smuggler who was part of the resurected Drayen Crime Syndicated whom he'd sparred, came to his rescue, to repay that debt. this of course ended, when Amun Raa rescued and freed her when she was about to be executed by the empire, and the two would have a breif romance before being allies for some time. though he himself highly doubted he'd ever see her again. and although in battle he took no prisoners, he spared any civilians who were captured. to anyone he considered an enemy he was blatant cruel and uncaring. to innocent people, he was kind, to criminals, he was merciless and treacherous, repaying them in their own coin, often selling trandoshin slavers as slaves back to their hutt masters.

Of course, meaning, he had a twisted sense of poetic justice. Amun Raa was the sort of person who if someone he loved was killed by a rival, he would kill his rival's beloved. and in the subsequent confrontation, totally annialate his enemy and their allies. Amun Raa's sense of justice entailed a hand for a hand and an eye for an eye. and when a rival murdered one of his agents by throwing him into a volcano on hoth, he responded by doing this to his rival's entire powerbase, and the cult they had built on tatooine, leaving the Sith broken and powerless.  Amun Raa once encountered the wife of a jedi on narr shaddaa and promised her not to kill him, so to keep his promise despite the jedi harrassing him despite his word of honor, he blackmailed the jedi for two years, until he left the order. Ironically, the two would meet again, the jedi and his wife had become civilians of Amun Raa's Empire, and the jedi, a Nebulosus war hero.  The two ended their anamosity and laughed about the past, Amun Raa saying 'he would neither kill a loyal man, nor a person he had promised to spare, and thus break his word' and the jedi admitting that he had long since resolved to fight for the justice of the Empire and 'Pharaoh' ironically, the jedi died shortly afterward in a Zakhulan assault. though Amun Raa mourned him, as his citizen than said good riddance as an old enemy.

Among his favored tactics, were taking advantage of opponents underestimating him, and then crushing them with overwelming force, and leaving only a single survivor to tell the tale from the perspective of a man driven mad. He also favored buying time in order to put all of his peices into play to ensure his triumph. As an assassin, surprise and fear were weapons he utilized to their full advantage, but also had a favoritsim for sudden attacks which would end in vanishing leaving only shock and terror. one such attack he orchestrated to reclaim his family Citadel on Korriban, had him desiring to test the limits of his skill, despite being outnumbered near the end, by vanishing from sight and striking from the shadows, in a series of hit and run stealth attacks which were nothing short of a brutal onslaught, some of his vicitims beleived he was a ghost.

History (Events of TOR-KOET)

Darth Raa's life began as one of splendor and opulance to rival the Hutts. he was heir to a most powerful Sith Lord, and was being groomed to take his place. His mother however, was a treacherous and avaricious Sith, who had had an arranged marriage to a far more merciful, yet potent Dark Lord of the Sith. Amun Raa and his twin brother, Ka'Akasti would often Watch their Father, Darth Anubis while he practiced Sith Alchemy, though Amun Raa was far more adept at the force, his brother was more volitile and could better draw on his anger. When the two were young, about ten or so, when his mother betrayed the family, wiping out their clan, except for her sons and another of Darth Anubis's wives and her son. Amun Raa and his twin brother Ka'Akasti were pitted against each other in fights to the death. Fights that neither participated in, until their mother sent the boys to kill wild beasts to break them. The desperation and seperation, in addition to the manipulation that Ka'Akasti experienced turned him against his brother. the subsequent duels left Ka heavily scarred. fleeing into the jungles of Drommund Kaas, Amun Raa eventually made his way into the Dark Temple, when it was breeched. Rather than being driven mad, he was able to use a technique of his father's, namely, reaching out and drawing on the force to translate it into pure power. Amun Raa's first teachers of the dark side, were Sith Spirits that had been sealed within. Among them, a pair of Force Ghosts trapped by the emperor. One of whom was his ancestor, another a fallen jedi and his ancestor's lover.

Kerrakk Akasti, The Unfulfilled, was a Sith Lord on the verge of a thousand great discoveries, all of which had failed because he lacked the skill to fully achieve them. his descendant Darth Anubus, succeeded, as did his son Amun Raa. Kerrakk's lover, a fallen jedi named Quaz'in Farr also taught Amun Raa many skills, and abilities. The two spirits would later walk beside Darth Raa, rather than being bound, like those spirits commanded by Dark Council Member Darth Nox. The fallen jedi, and his lover, Amun Raa's Sith Ancestor, for the time being, left their charge. Amun Raa, then escaped the dark temple, while the two ancient Sith protected his mind.  Amun Raa later was adopted by Revanites on Drommund Kaas, and learned to balance both the lightside and darkside. Frequent forrays into the Dark Temple had him learning from his ancestor's husband and his time as a Jedi.  In the end, Amun Raa was taken as an apprentice, to Laadra, but left the Revanite order when he realized their depravity as a Cult worshiping Revan, rather than a noble order of scholars. At fifteen Amun Raa continued studying the Dark Side on his own, learning, rather than from Sith Holocrons, or a master, ancient Sith Spirits. Amun Raa even journied to his family's ruined Citadel on Korriban, and their Temple on Yavin IV, and while their, learning from his ancestors.  One such journey, saw his being discovered by a Sith Lord excavating the tombs.

Attempts to regain the treasures Amun Raa had plundered failed, and resulted in a hundred deaths. as he hid in various tombs throught the Valley of Dark Lords. in the end, his own brother, a prominant apprentice to a Sith Lord by that time, and wholly seduced by the dark side, captured him. Rather than have him killed, Darth Marr heard of his afinity to the dark side, and ordered him trained on Korriban.  Later discovering that the young Sith was far more experienced than he had originally thought, as he had only heard of him in passing, Marr ordered the boy brought before him. Marr sensed his affinity to the dark side, and commanded him to pick up a lightsaber and face his own apprentice. Amun Raa shot a blast of force lightning so powerful, it crippled the apprentice, allowing the young Sith to land a killing blow. Then, Marr challenged the Sith himself, and the results were predictable. Despite being defeated easily, Amun Raa charged Marr, in defiance, until he was in so much pain he could no longer move. Marr declared that the boy possessed natural talent, and knowlege of the force that was undeniable, despite his age. And that despite this, he lacked true practical knowlege of the Sith and the Dark Side. Before he killed him, Marr demanded to know where the source of his knowlege was.

Amun Raa confessed he had communed with ancient Sith spirits, amung them, his ancestors, and had been taught a great deal. Marr ordered the boy to be returned to the Korriban academy. Several years later, at around the time the Sith who were to become the Emperor's Hand and Darth Nox graduated, Darth Marr took him as his own apprentice. He was surprised to discover in that time, other students on Korriban had declared their loyalty to him. and others who were already apprentices owed their allegiances. Marr sent agents to look into the boys past, and discovered, that though many of its members had been wiped out, he was one of three surviving heirs to the House of Akasti.  Marr subsequently set a plot into motion that would bring the boy a considerable sphere of influence, as well as himself that power, by allowing for Amun Raa to avenge his Clan's destruction. Amun Raa murdered his own mother to avenge his Father, and assumed his rightful place, ruiling his father's Vassals, and minions. Amun Raa, subsequently took the name "Darth Raa" as an insinuation to an ancient Sun God, The Light that Illuminates the Abyss. Then hearing of Darth Nox's binding of Sith spirits and its disastrous results, made a bargain with many of the spirits that had taught him his ancient knowledge. Rather than binding them, they walked beside him as partners, many using his body as a vessel, until he called upon them. Many continueing as teachers, others convinced to share his vision for a more merciful empire. For this reason Amun Raa set out to find Sith more aligned with his way of thinking.

encouraging his pupil to search out Darth Anubis's legacy, Darth Marr, hoped that Darth Raa, would become more powerful, and uncover the dead lord's much coveted secrets, at which time, he would take them for himself. Challenges to the Young Sith Lord were met easily by careful plotting and strategy, and it was around the time that a young mercenary named Skarabe arrived on Drommund Kaas, that Amun Raa recognized him as his father, albiet with no memory of who he was. Darth Marr recieved a vision, of a Pirate weilding a lightsaber and casting lightning, worlds burning and dead rising, and immediately sought out his apprentice, though they discovered nothing from this. Amun Raa, meanwhile, recognized his father as a mercenary, and hired him to retrieve something from the dark temple, namely an heirloom holocron, hoping the dark side energy would awaken his memories. It did.  In realizing, all that he had lost, Darth Anubis passed the title of Lord of the Dead, to his son, and began teaching him his knowlege. Amun Raa mastered the ability to raise the dead, when he instigated a massacre of Republic Forces on Taris, the Hero of Tython and the Smuggler who was to resurect the Dreyan Crim Syndicate were there to witness it.  Amun Raa eventually left the Empire for Wildspace, beyond the outer rim fallowing a vision his father had had.  Although Darth Raa would fight for the empire as a Sith Assassin, and powerful Dark Lord, he eventually built his own empire, on a set of solar systems, one of which had been an Infinate Empire city world, now mired in swamp and jungle, which became his capital.  These systems were inside a massive Nebula, whose unique magnetic properties caused many malfunctions to star ships, and was a sort of 'Bermuda Triangle' of Wildspace. Survivors lived on the planets below, Jedi, Sith, pirates and all manner of traders, as well as decendants of ancient sith and pirates and the like.

Devided into factions, the systems were mostly unreachable from each other because of the nebula, and each world was ruled by despots and crimelords. one system was even ruled by a hutt who had lived there for four hundred years.  Amun Raa, subsequently overthrew the despots, and reigned over the people living scattered throughout the ten systems in the Nebula.   Amun Raa managed to build battleships immune to those effects because of special generators on board, allowing his new empire to travel from world to world, uniting them.  31 worlds scattered in seven systems, would subsequently be brought under his control, and both jedi, and Sith bowing before him, The jedi, out of peaceful dimplomatic efforts, and the Sith through Conquest and Shows of Force. Subsequently, the two sides lay aside their annamosity, as the wild worlds were said to have 'calming' effect. and while the jedi had honed their martial prowess to protect the other marooners on the planets, the Sith had sought to reach out through the force seeking answers. Eventually, over many years prior, to Amun Raa's arrival, most of the most dangerous jedi and Sith had wiped each other out, and the survivors, united against the the most powerful crime lords, and warlords. When Darth Raa returned to the greater galaxy as a whole, He returned a Sith Lord, with a hidden empire, and resources that few could imagine.  His empire, now united and with machines being built by Rakatan tech to revive and connect their world, led Amun Raa to claim his family Patriarch's ancient title of 'Pharaoh' and to dub his kingdom, the Nebulosus Empire, after the anomoly that had stranded the people who became its citizens.

Amun Raa summoned his vassals and servants from Korriban in secret to teach his people a version of Revan's teachings that is, to walk a path both light and dark in balance, but not a blindly obedient cult, and set about the more nessicary task of building machines which could stabalize the magnetic waves of the nebulas and systems of his empire, enabling ships, space stations and other techknology to function properly.  Indeed, the nebula had accounted for hundreds of ships being wrecked and destroyed over the years. Among the jedi, and Sith vessels. the completion of the first "Transmagnetic Generator" was a resounding success, allowing the magnetic energy to be a source of renewable energy, the generator thus acted as both a sheild and a powerplant. more ships were built with modifed engines and soon space stations constructed to enable travel between his worlds, effectively opeing the system to the galaxy. these stations, however held a secret. much that they could bend the electromagnetic waves around them, sheilding ships and the hyperspace lanes, they could also be deactivated, removing the safety afforded, as a contingency for an invasion from the sith. Ironically, it was Zakhul that was to invade, not the Sith, and take the heaviest losses. Descendants of a ship belonging to the Imperial Reclamation Service succeeded  in activation old Rakatan factories, enabling the city world to regain power, and be occupied again. the City world had since become similar to Taris, ruins covered in marsh land and swamps and jungles, yet it was here, Amun Raa moved his capital, in an ancient Rakatan Palace, calling the world, Anubis Prime, in honor of his father, who frequented the world to visit his son.

While the Sith Empire consolidated its forces, and fought the republic, with wars raging on Makeb, Amun Raa began a dual role as Pharaoh of 31 planets composing the Nebusos Empire while also waging war against the Republic. he conquered a large section of Kuat Drive Yards, and held that sole section long enough for it to partially construct a large Super Harrower dreadnaught. he was driven from there, and the ship presumed destroyed when the partially built framework, and command decks saw it launch into hyperspace. Jedi ships closed in, but were surpised to find themselves in The Nebulosus Empire, losing power, the jedi radioed for aid. they were presumed destroyed in the nebula. Amun Raa would be presumed dead, until the final battle for Makeb.  His former revanite masters, particularly Darth Arkous, contacted him, and offered him a chance to join their order. Amun Raa agreed, if only to look after his own people, and weaken the Sith empire, who he knew would be a threat to his own. Arkous however, turned on him when he discovered he had been manipulated. Their battle, fortunately took place on Rishi, then the den of a his father, who had since become a powerful pirate called 'Sithspawn'. when Amun Raa lay, close to death, and his Nebulosun warriors defeated, his father appeared, and destroyed the revanite forces. Arkous retreated and did not witness as his Father saved his son, or Amun Raa raising the dead.

Amun Raa awakened the fallen warriors, replicating his father's ritual, and claimed a decisive victory, causing the revanites to have a desperate need to relocate their stronghold to another island on Rishi, they chose one held by the Rishi people close to Raider's Cove. Amun Raa went into hiding, to avoid attracting attention to himself, but sent intellegence pointing to Revanite activity on Rakata Prime, to Lana Beniko.  She remained unwaware of its source, or how her fruitless searches had been manipulating into suddenly bearing fruit.  Amun Raa was among the First Sith Lords to ally himself with Coallition forces on Yavin IV. Darth Marr discovered around this time, that his apprentice had succeeded in completing the super star destroyer, which was called "The Empress of Korriban" and ordered the ship in a low orbit, and that if everything should fall apart, he authorized a full orbital bombardment of Yavin IV. Amun Raa, meanwhile remained in his Family's own Stronghold on the planet, which had since become the Pirate's Roost of his father, Sithspawn. Sithspawn showed his son, secret caves and catacombs, wtih his datacrons, holocrons and his teachings, and discoveries.  When Revan was defeated, Darth Raa, returned to the Nebulosus Empire beyond the outer rim, to see to its completion.  By the Time of the Chaos unleashed on Ziost, Amun Raa had completed his work on the Nebusosus Empire, it was now on par with other galactic Powers, but favoring tactics to buy Time, and not deisring to involve himself in war with either Republic or Empire, he began Isolationist practices, with comodities he required from the greater galaxy being inquired in secret, by smugglers, or his now space pirate father.

At the onset of Zakhul's invasion, a probe transmitted primative images of the main trading space station before the magnetic waves damaged it. the subsequent invasion was only discovered three months later, as Darth Raa was contacted by officials of The Nebulosus while in the Citidel on Drommund Kaas speaking with Darth Marr concerning the fall of Korriban. Amun Raa brought his super harrower out of reserve, using it to shatter an ancroaching Eternal Fleet, which had it not been for Zakhulan reinforcements, whould have succeeded in protecting the Imperial homeworld. When the Empire Fell, Amun Raa retreated to Anubis Prime, the Former Rakata City World, had renamed for his father, and began preparations for war. mostly in the form of shutting down the spaceway shields and building more ships that had their own generators and could survive the magnetic interfearance.  Amun Raa successfully turned back four invasion attempts.  The isolationist policy and the natural magnetic interferance allowed him to keep Zakhul at bay until he had readied his empire for an all out war. Ironically, shortly after the Battle of Odesson, the Alliance mistook his forces for Zakhulan battleships, but they agreed to sign a treaty. At the end of the war, and the onset of the Iokath conflict, Amun Raa began picking up the peices of the broken Eternal Empire, even capuring a Star Fortress for his own purposes, and several zakhul controled worlds, expanding his borders. When confronted by the Outlander and the Alliance about his dealings, Darth Raa's Force sensative forces, who had been training for over five years, prepared an onslaught to shatter the alliance and conquer it. Pharaoh Nebulosus cleverly proposed a formal treaty to the new Eternal Emperor,  so that two empires would stand together against the galaxy. The Eternal Empire, under The Outlander, and Amun Raa's own Empire of Nebulosus.

in your opinion perhaps. however most of people's toons are probably early twenties, meaning you have an Emperor's Hand, and a Dark Council member around that age too. also given his backstory as being taught by sith spirits, most likely surviving possession attempts and not being driven mad, rather than standard schooling and the plausability he would be recognized as quite powerful, not to mention prodigal it is quite likely. oh, and you may have forgetten sith nature in that a dark council member was manipulating him to gain his father's secrets so he could steal them.

one parting thought, feel free to say it's rediculous all you want, but i believe there is a star wars meme that sums up how i feel about some random idiot feels about my own creative process. namely, "look at all the fucks i don't give."

thanks. i figured most sith have a cult, why can't he have a mini empire and run it lightside style? plus seeing as our soloar system has 10 planets, hell average running 10-15 solar systems and itll add up nicely, and itll hardly take up the whole galaxy.

sorry math was waaay off. it was late. lol, ours has like 7, so the average would have to be even less. if every system had like three to ten worlds or therabouts, you figure only a handful of systems, and hes got a nice sized empire.

yeah i mean 10 to 15 Sol Systems, thats way to big, thats beyond basic cult or empire levels, thats almost United Federation levels

well, given that the galaxy is a massive place, and has millions of solar systems, with the empire and republic controling most of it, i'm sure the worlds we've seen are really only places that were mentioned, but there are probably millions of worlds in the star wars galaxy. plus while some systems have like only a couple worlds, our solar system has seven, and they think more. So I'm going with some average in there where it's a nice chunk which will give him a good deal of power, but on the galactic scale, is practically nothing. I know the Naboo system has like several other planets besides Naboo, and I'm sure there's a wide average, but we only ever see worlds where there is story to be told. plus there are probably planets like Bespin or Yavin which are gas giants, or uninhabitable, but have cloud cities or moons.  I mean honestly, even in Imperial Space, The Taris, Yavin Korriban Drommund and other systems are no way the only systems there. Galaxies are not that small. there are probably thousands of systems in imperial space alone. I mean, even considering the distance, and vast expanse The Empire was building up strength on Drommund Kaas for their return, but Drommund kaas on the map is practically right next to Korriban. I highly doubt, that the jedi would not have sensed a gathering darkness in a neighboring system. and i don't really know how Star Trek sets their scale, but i know galaxies are massive. but you may be right about downsizing it, just a smidge.
