That seems to have been the case... problem is that in the New 52 Cpatian Marvel (Now called Shazam) is now a little brat that is pissed off all the time.

No... no no dude. That totally goes out of his character. In a franchise there has to be a balance of nice characters and bratty characters. You really think Vegeta would've been so cool if Goku was equally angry?
The reason Billy Batson was chosen to be the Cap was because Shazam's previous attempt (Black Adam) went wrong. He chose Billy because he say a kid with a pure heart. He wasa troubled kid but he had the hero persona that made him likable. He had the heart that people THINK Superman has.
In the New 52, Billy is a stubborn kid. Suddenly an orphan. Think he's Jason Todd because he likes to say things like people deserve punishment. He's a ten year old kid for Pete's sake. Oh and now he's not even called Captain Marvel anymore. They call him Shazam and the original Shazam now has no name. Plus the way they make him angry doesn't even work. For one it doesn't make sense why he was picked anymore and the other reason is that he just looks plain bratty when doing it. He's not badass like Batman or Jason. He's just become another angry Superman.

Worst part is I was starting to get more into DC. I had just caught myself up. Then New 52 shows up and is just garbage.
Luckily however, I hear New 52 is starting to get in some good plot lines but it still doesn't undo the changes they've made.

The only thing I heard that is still good is that Batman comics haven't really changed too much compared to everyone else.

Something like the New 52? Sort of. However it's not really a reboot. They didn't change any character backstory but... they changed things. Such as Doc Oc taking over Peter Parker's body and becoming the new Spider-man. The "Superior" Spirder-man. Look it up.
