Every year around Lent I get all religious and the result is a couple of good picures that portray a religious figure. This year it was all about jesus dieing. Please no negative comments based on your beliefs. That would be very much appreciated.I am also tired of seeing pictures of Jesus up on the cross with absolutely no wounds at all. I mea come on, even if you don't believe that he rose from the dead, it's historically proven that he was beaten pretty damn bad. This is actually pretty clean compared to what it must have been like.

Thank you/ FInally someone on the net who realizes that Jesus was beaten when he had ot suffer. I mean I'm trying to draw Jesus walking the cross up and I can't find a good model of him struggling up carrying it. All of it is Jesus in robe carrying it. I mean seriously he was beaten beyond recognition, stripped, pierced, and crucified. Yet all of the earth in it's unbelief and humanistic view of Jesus is refusing to acknowledge his death as it actually is. So I thank you edwpumpkinkin for making this realistic.

...Matt, the composition is really excellent--by that I mean where you placed the three figures. It would seem to be more natural to simply draw them in a tidy row with Christ in the middle, but that would have been "standard" and uninteresting...
....and the Jesus figure is so well done---you have captured the emotion of this awful event, the heaviness of the head and the slump of the shoulders, the gravity, it really looks as if He has been tortured, and that He has suffered and died in dispair. This is beautifully drawn. A truly excellent piece. That is my opinion and I stand by it-----A twelve indeed!!!!!!
