Description
One of the better tours on that trip. Our original plan was to hike up the Rubihorn - it's the peak on the left, you can see the switchbacks leading up to the top - with the option to only go to the lake in the center (Unterer Gaisalpsee) in case there was too much snow to continue. However, as you can see, we made it all the way up to the Rubihorn and then decided to hike along the ridge, crossing another mountain peak (Gaisalphorn, not in this frame). From the point of this shot we continued to the right and eventually dropped down to the lake Oberer Gaisalpsee, which you can see on the right. From there we could drop down to the center lake and back to the valley. From here you can even see some of the houses of the village where we started on that morning. It was an interesting view point because you could basically see almost the entire loop we did that day.
