Description

This is Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach at sunset. It's a sea stack that rises 72 m above the sea level and is accessible by food during low tide. Locally it's claimed to be the third highest of its kind but I somehow doubt it... It's massive but I somehow can't imagine it to be in the Top 3 - in case someone even keeps track of that...

Location: Cannon Beach, Oregon, USA

Thank you! In reality it was more of a quick idea but I guess it kind of worked out.

It does indeed look like this is the third highest in the world. The second highest is Harry Rock in Engkand. It's very impressiveΒ

It's indeed a really nice feature and aside from the geology its biology is interesting as well. There are a lot of different species of birds that occupy different sides&parts of the rock as well as tide pools during low tide.
