Description

This photo was taken directly from the Austrian-German border looking towards Austria. It was in the morning just before we started our hike and basically the last view we got for a while because we would ascend into the clouds shortly after... The "trees" in the foreground are Pinus mugo. In this region, they are very common at the upper edge of the tree line - pretty much the last "big" plants before the alpine vegetation fully takes over.
