Another white haired person. Haven't felt like messing about with drawings for ages so terrible as this picture is, it feels good

PeeEss! My terribly insecure psyche would appreciate comments : P

EDIT: Hair and sketchwork changed, she's more subtle now.
Take a look at the previous version at [link]

ohhh beautiful! it's elegant and soft, and i love the colors. i feel like if i poke her skin it'd be like cotton or something.

That's the idea, although I seriously texturised her skin in this version >.> She actually has the concrete pavement outside plastered over her face, otherwise she looks *too* soft and cottony. Airbrushy, I might even say

It looks like it fits together much better now
Though, the older version was lovely too ^_^

Thankyou I think so too Haha I do love the old hair... just maybe not on this girl. I'll have to draw something new >.>

Thankyou! Always nice to get feedback from you guys! I've often wondered actually how you colour your pieces, because the result is so different from what I end up with..

The difference is that you color professionally and I don't!
Really I mean it. I have had no knowledge of colors until two months ago. My coloring might change and improve to be close to yours hopefully. But I have yet to find the time to do any coloring.

Hahaha, colour professionally? Not at all!
I think it really depends on which program you learn on, and which version you learn on. I see a lot of better colouring coming off ps 7 than off cs3 for instance, which isn;t how it should be but is!
And opencanvas 3 had nicer preset brushes that were smoother and nicer to paint with than opencanvas 4.

So it all really depends what you start on I think :/

Well, I guess you're right. But right now, I'm painting on actual cancas, and I suck at it
Programs do make things a lot more easier.

I'm better at painting with actual PAINT and BRUSHES and PAPER. I somehow find real textures to work with and around make things more beautiful.
On photoshop you have to fake it ._. Hard to get inspiration from a screen.

True. I have only recently been doing more traditional work, rather than digital, specially when it comes to coloring, and the result is much more satisfying.

Thankyou so much! I think intriguing exactly hits on what I was aiming for in this image, so it's great to read your comment ^^

Woooow. So cool... Love how her face is totally photo-realistic, and then she has the sketchy body and hair. And I just described the picture. I'm soooo helpful. but no, this is aaaawesome.

eep In reply to leakymuffin [2008-08-08 07:18:38 +0000 UTC]

It's not totally photorealistic.. it's actually got some texture applied over the skin to make her look not quite so photoshop-airbrush-fake >.>

Oh? Oooooh, I hadn't seen that before. But really, it looks realistic anyway... So want to be able to do what you do.

I'll upload the non-texture one sometime to scraps, she looks totally fake without it

So very pretty
The face is beautiful, and while I like the white hair, I think it either needs to be a bit softer, to fit in with the softness of her face, or you could have some bold accents elsewhere on the picture (like some bold white borders or decorations) so the hair doesn't look as out of place
It's luffly though.

I changed her hair, old ones in scraps now... what does you think?
