Description Acrona listened to the silence. It had been some nights since her mother had requested the others to leave the Winterflows' home. Dalathir had withdrawn to his own chamber when dawn permeated the windows, leaving her with a cooling bowl of soup. With a struggle Acrona pulled herself up to sit on the bedside, her bones heavy as if transmogrified into lead, laborious for her stiff, starved husk of a body to push and drag.

Worse still, Acrona felt like her heart had been ripped out of her chest, then put back in bleeding. The pain spiralled in intensity every time she drew breath. Her memories were a fog riddled with dread and unspeakable crimes her returned conscience couldn't flee from. It was an intolerable task to attempt striding into that fog to separate the truths and lies of her past. There was only one way to escape the pain, and Acrona had been denied it.

Runic silver cuffs gleamed viciously next to the dull edges of her long sleeves. Acrona had refused food and drink, and it was only the sorcery of her family that now kept Acrona alive. Wasn't it for these bindings around her wrists, she would have used that very same magic to unmake herself. But here she was, a prisoner in a world she had no desire to return to; a world that had collapsed and yet one she was being forced to relearn.

Teldrassil was gone. A war had raged through their lands and many whom she knew were slaughtered, she knew this much. Her partner was now a former such, devoted to another. Acrona couldn't hate nor detest him for moving on, for she hadn't been able to offer him anything but a cruel Void driven persecusion as the dark force weaponized Acrona against everything she once cared and stood for. And though the others had said her return was the Goddess' will, Acrona's faith in Elune hung tangled on a very thin thread for letting her fall into such a twisted fate.

Acrona set her eyes on the door of her chamber. Dalathir had forgot to lock it. That was the only knowledge that had pulled together the shreds of her strength for her to rise from bed.
