Description Click here if you don't know what Alopecia is: [link]

"An unknown environmental trigger such as emotional stress or a pathogen is thought to combine with hereditary factors to cause the condition."

This autoimmune disease started appearing in my life about five years ago, where i lost all the eyelashes on my upper left eye, random spots of missing hair on my body and head. I am still affected by this disease today, there is no cure. And no one knows why it happens.

Over time though i have actually become accustomed to its effects, and you will see me display things (such as one eye without eyelashes for example) through out my work.

***NOTE
I have moved into a new place recently and no longer have a scanner. So all my stuff from here onward will be taken with digital camera. Also, the computer monitor i am using is really dark, so please pardon me if any of the photos are poorly lit. <3

Wow... thank you for sharing.

I had no idea something like this even existed. I love learning new things. <3

Have you included this (secretly) in other pieces... I want to say that there are others. Which now make much more sense to me.

"Psychosocial issues.
Alopecia can certainly be the cause of psychological stress. Because hair loss can lead to significant appearance changes, individuals may experience social phobia, anxiety, and depression. Some psychologists have even gone as far as to describe the feelings of loss and depression felt at the onset of the disease as being similar to those felt by people afflicted with terminal illness. In severe cases where the chance of hair regrowth is slim, individuals need to adapt to the condition, rather than look for a cure. There is currently little provision for psychological treatment for people afflicted with alopecia."-In Wikipedia

I knew the disease before cause i had a girlfriend with hte same problem..it's ok though

I never saw the difference between scanning your stuff or taking pictures of it..I've always done pictures. Either way, I really like this one. The anatomy is really well done, as are the expressions. I love the surreal aspect to all your stuff, too. :]

Well with photography i think a person can get a "truer" image, esp if your piece has texture or anything like that. And a lot of the time scanners sort of take the life out of things somehow...but they can also give a nice clean look. Sometimes too clean. ....anyway, hehehe thank you!!

Oh, definately. My scanner always hated me. XD; So I used pictures anyway.

No problem. :]
