Description Anyone who's seen enough of my pro wrestling stuff knows that I hate letting the ringropes get in the way of a good picture, but there's something about this one that makes the presence of those blasted things alright. I think it's because it reminds me of the photos I've seen of old time wrestling, with the classic trademarks: the good guy picking himself up from the canvas; the bad guy giving the crowd a hard time; the crowd responding in kind; the referee doing his job.

I agree with you. The ring ropes, while they don't actually add anything to the picture, just seem right in this picture. maybe it's because it serves to remind the viewer that the ring is where this battle is. Maybe it's because it frames the person getting off the canvas, drawing attention to him. I'm not sure, but it does look right.

Yeah, you've hit the nail on the head there. It handily separates the field of view into different dimensions and that's what helps it work.

Yup, I am. It's a fun, albeit hazardous job which I tie in with being the ring announcer. As soon as the announcements are done, I shove the mic in my pocket and start shooting.

Over the last couple of shows I've becoming a moving target; most of the time I'm lucky and I get out of the way in time. On Saturday night I got kicked right in the head though.
