I\'m planning to get a tattoo soon (hush!). Naturally, it\'s a secret (since my mom\'s probably going to kill me if she finds out!).

Anyway, a tattoo convention is coming up and I really want to get inked. My roommate suggested that I design my own tat so it would be more personal. And I thought, \"why not?\". I mean, it\'s going to be on my skin permanently. It should just as well be personalized and meaningful.

The design\'s actually derived from my love for Japan, anime and, of course, artistic independence. The feather just kind of represents all that. The design was inspired off a crow\'s feather and the feather design from Tsubasa Chronicles.

The design took me about 7 hours to finish, since I took about 5 hours to finish the sketch and lineart. It doesn\'t look any different from regular feather sketches out there, but I really worked hard to make it my own. So, please, if you feel the need to use this work for your own tat or for whatever purpose, please credit me. It wouldn\'t hurt to at least acknowledge where you got the design.

Also, I\'m very fickle when it comes to color (since I decided to submit this in DA). Naturally, the tattoo itself would be inked in black. For aesthetic purposes, you have the pleasure of looking at the other possible color options for this design.

I designed and edited this design using Sketchbook Pro for iPad. I tell you, that application is heavenly.
The colors are from Camera+. The design was originally just black, but filters are powerful enough to give a BW design lots of color.
