Finally Kanu has an updated reference sheet! A nice way to start this art year, which hopefully will include my own characters a lot more :3 And I've grown a little tired of showing people the embarrassing old sheet from 2009, haha.This one is a little more detailed than the other references I've done, largely because Kanu has a lot of very specific characteristics and I felt a need to explain them. They can be a little difficult to spot, so I've included the most common "mistakes" here, plus a couple more things I've been wanting to explain about her design but that I've forgotten to include before.
Woo! Now to do sheets for the rest of my characters... xD

Her design has actually remained pretty consistent throughout her eleven-year existence, but I was growing so tired of having to show people the embarrassing old sheet, so I had to do something about it...

Oh man her yellows are so much prettier than Razzles xD I was looking at Razzle the other day and couldn't decide whether I actually liked the new yellow I picked last year or not, lol. Fantastic ref sheet, great work on including the little details that people get wrong. It's frustrating when you give people a clear reference sheet and they get things wrong

Thank you very much, Azzy! ^^ Hehe, I actually decided to add a more toned down colour scheme for Kanu after I started drawing her together with Sheek and saw how much their colours clashed. I ended up really liking the new colours
And I can't think of any drawings of Kanu where you got any of her markings wrong, so no worries there, haha

I think my problem is is that I was already drawing on my laptop, and now that I've changed to the actual computer with what likely has better colour representation, I realise just how bad of a choice it was, lol.

I love how detailed this reference sheet is! I really like the use of the color codes, and shading suggestions! One time I shaded a character and they turned green, and I was like 
I also really admire the people who take the time to draw a unique reference for each character, rather than using a template and just adding the colors and hair (I do that all the time lol) The only additional thing I could suggest is maybe showing how the stripe ends? I mean, you say just between shoulder blades, but does it come to a point or curve/line? PS Her newer colors are so pretty!

Hehe, I concluded that the only way to keep myself interested in making character sheets would be to make a unique drawing for each one; they all have too many different traits and body types and I'd grow so bored of editing and recolouring a single lineart... I haate editing lineart
And that's a good suggestion, I'm gonna add it!
