Description Hello, everyone! Here's the channel recap for this year! This was definitely a big year for my channel. But for starters, I want to thank each and everyone of you for makign this journey possible! If it wouldn't have been for you guys, then I don't think I would've made this content, so I want to thank you all for it! The fact I reached 100 watches a few months ago is mind blowing. I wouldn't never thought back in 2021 that such a thing would've been possible.

As I said earlier, 2022 was a big year for me, not just in Thomas and my DA content but in my own personal life too, overall, it was a huge improvement from 2021 in every aspect.

In terms of what I did here this year, I didn't do as many discussions as 2021, but I feel that, throughout 2022, I greatly improved the quality of my discussions. Upon looking at some of my older discussions from May or June 2021 and comaring them to stuff that I do nowadays, like Duck's character analysis or the Shedward discussion, i feel like I've really grown as a content creator since then. Like, I don't cringe at my older content, as I feel that shows how much have grown and most of my opinions haven't changed that much over this time, but I think that what I mostly improved this year was in terms of how I presented my content, which makes me very content with the end result and I hgope to keep improving in 2023.

In terms of my favourite project rhis year? Ohh, that's so hard, but if I had to choose, my five favourite discussions, from most favourite to least favourite, would be the following:

1. The Shedward Discussion: Shedward is a very controversial episode IMO and I can see why people may like it or hate it at the same time, regardless of my opinions. So, when making it, I wanted to talk about what I thought were the episode's good things, it's flaws and how to improve, and I think I really did a very good job with it. I also wanted to touch on aspects about this episode that not many people have talked about since it was released in 2017, like the continuity with Fatest Red Engine on Sodor and An Engine of Many Colours, if Edward works well as a character, his dynamic with a certain diesel boxcab, etc. and I think I did a good job covering these aspects, as well as how I would personally improve the episode. For those curious, I am still planning to write my own take of the episode at some point next year, but I am little busy with other things, although this adaption will come in due time. In any case, regardless of your opinions on the episode, I recommend you to check it out, mostly for what I would do to fix the episode. Still, I'm very content with this discussion and I feel like its my favourite discussion of the year.

2. Lost Treasure: 7th Anniversary Review: My second favourite discussion of the year, and rightfully so. I really, really loved talking about why, in my opinion at least, the movie works so well and how efficently it uses Thomas' character, which is quite rare nowadays. I also like how I talked about the symbolism throughout the movie as well as Thomas' character arc. If there were anything I would add to the discussion now would be that I think S19 in general, not just Who's Geoffrey?, did a really solid job at buidling Thomas' cheeky and troublesome nature up to the movie, which is something I only realized after my lastest rewatch of the entire season a few months ago. Outside of that, I'm very happy with what I did with this discussion, as Thomas is my favourite character of the franchise as of now, so I wanted to do a discussion about how well he was handled in that movie and I think I did that really well IMO.

3. Duck the Great Western Engine: A Character Analysis: Okay, so this is the last discussion of the year, which I only uploaded the yesterday. I must admit it was a huge pain to do this one, as I had to do a little bit of research compared to some other characters, like BoCo and Daisy, and I also wanted to talk extensively about Duck's character, his treatment in the franchise and his dynamics, and I'm very proud of what I did. Duck's a character that has strong ties with real life railways and it was very fun talking about that. Duck's also a character that my views have changed quite a bit about him throughout this year. Back in 2021, I originally considered him one of the weakest of the Awdry's famous eight, but now? That's definitely not the case! Duck is a really great character IMO and I'm super happy I ended the year on a high note with a discussion going greatly in-depth about what makes him tick.

4.Blue Mountain Mystery: 10 Anniversary Review: Blue Mountain Mystery is a movie that my opinions on have changed quite a bit since last year. I really like it because how well it uses its secondary characters (both new and old), has a unique plot and every character has a reason for the way they act (like, there's no moment in this movie where Thomas does something stupid for his own needs, all he does is to help clear Luke's name, and when he does stupid things, you don't really blame him, as he's doing it out of selfless, not to gain something for his own personal needs). I also like how dark the movie is. The movie basically shows Luke almost "killing" the yellow engine, and until we find out who the yellow engine, for all we know, that engine has been killed. That's kinda morbid. I also like how the movie touches on Luke feeling a lot of guilty and pressure on his buffers because of what he did, and also for what he THINKS happened to the yellow engine. It basically focus on Luke's psyche and emotions, and I really appreciate that. This movie is REALLY CLEVER, both in terms of its usage of its cast as well as its plotline. As a whole, I'm very pleased to have covered that, even if I made that post out of the spot in like a day or so, but I'm still super happy with it.

5. Top 10 Thomas Opinions Part 1: Okay, this is a project that I almost held back for 2023, but I decided to at least this first part on 2022, and I'm very happy with it. Essentially, these will be posts with ten opinions of mine talking about something Thomas related that I can't make for long discussions or are simply just not worthy of being that long. I'm very happy with part one, as more parts will come throughout the next year.

As always, leave your thoughts in the comments below, and what were the five discussions that I made this year that YOU enjoyed the most? Leave your ranking in the comments below.

So, that's it! That was 2022 in my channel, folks! I hope you've enjoyed this ride and I can't wait to see you all next year! Hopefully, 2023 WILL BE ANOTHER GOOD YEAR AND A BIG ONE TOO. I've got a lot of things planned, if all goes well. Next week, I'll be posting a New Year's Update post to talk about all the changes coming, so be on the lookout for that! Until then, see you "in the future", and have a HAPPY AND SAFE NEW YEAR'S WITH ALL YOUR LOVED ONES! This is EG2202 signing off 2022! All the best for 2023!
