First Mission Page 19, a monthly comic commission for<<= PREVIOUS / FIRST / NEXT =>>
Whew! Done for the month and man, I'm beat! I got behind this month but I was given about three more pages of comic to do. I'm not complaining though. This page has a lot of new characters that have not been drawn before. We'll meet them as we go. Took so much time to color!

Why is the flash-type dog called the Crimson Cur? Isn't a cur, a bad, despicable person? Not a real flattering name for a heroine.

Cur means "dog" in loose kind of way. Calling someone a dog is a way of insulting them just as calling someone a pig.

I find medic mouse hillariously strange.
What the heck does she do?
Heal evil doers?
Throw bed pans?
Dyno Donkey is also very amusing
There needs to be some kind of cross over where he fights Ghoul.

I know. Actually, the info I was given makes her a lot like superman in terms of what her powers are like except she can heal people and is a trained doctor. In the fiction written by her creator, her healing powers are almost forgotten which I've said is a shame since there are many heroes that are super strong, fly and can shoot eye-beams but none that can heal which makes her very unique and invaluable in any kind of team setting.

I suppose in an X-men style super hero team, having someone who is more supportive in their power makes sense. In most super hero things, the issue of how they heal after all these massive earth shattering battles tends to get glossed over so that could have been a good way to address that.
Just doing the super man thing while dressed as a nurse is a bit disappointing! We could just stick the donkey in a medical uniform if we are going to do that! (Though probably best we don't!)

A varied and potentially slightly silly group of supers. It'll be fun to see what they can do. Let me guess: Ji-Lin has super-speed abilities? Her costum looks an awful lot like the Mash. Uh, the Clash? The Trash? The Brash? D'oh, I can't remember his name!

Many of those characters' costumes are based totally from DC heroes. I'm not sure why and they all have names that work with their species like wonder wolf (wonder woman), Dyno Donkey (superman), Crimson Cur (flash) and others. None of the characters are mine and I'd like to alter their costumes a bit so they are not exactly like DC's heroes but again, they're not mine.

So, the guy talking to Brambleberry was clad in Communist and fascist symbols, The donkey itself is a symbol of the democratic party not to mention he is dressed in red and blue... This is like WW2 and the cold war combined!
