So i never had clearly explained myself when people just assumed I meant all music is rotting the world, but that was not the point. Music itself is a wonderful thing, but today music has become such a part of society that it rips at the seems of life. Social scenes are centered around music, people will start problems with other people over music they listen to, music as much as it is a tool of expression has become a tool itself. People use music as an excuse to say things you would never normally say, only in songs can you get away with singing about raping people, dealing drugs, and openly admit to crimes but people can pass it off as it is music. It shows through in all genres it is not just one in specific so before you people jump on and go only on rap is or only rock is look at what you listen to, really get to know the song and you might just see it is not just one genre. I love music, but there are points in which I just believe music at the same time causes so much damage. Music has become one of the central aspects of social scenes, people can be alienated for listening to weird music, people feel obligated to dress a specific way because they listen to specific music. What is wrong with someone who wears dunks and the latest sean john clothing liking metallica or megadeth? At the same time what is wrong with some kid who likes to spike his hair in a huge mohawk listening to rap or something? The fact that there are people who feel lives need to be dictated by the music they listen, the fact that people refer to people as "rockers" or "ghetto" because it comes from music, as crazy as this sounds does anyone get where i am coming from. Music is a form of expression not the center of life. Thank you for reading my rant lol sorry for the horrible grammar and organization hence the fact that it is a rant.

yes i agreed todays music are lossing their grip and yes some songs are like what your talking about but not all ok and yes people tend too follow the music phase but for me i really dont care cause what i do i listen not one specific or a few i listen too any from too mainstream too unheard artist and foreign mainstream and unheard foreign artist yes people too fight that a lot i just get mad at the person when they diss cant they just listen to their own music without criticism from another person and love the design

Hrm. "Music is Rotting The World" means all music, yes? So why are you targeting rock/punk/rap in your rant? I agree that those 3 genres do get a lot of unwanted attention from people who let it affect them mentally. But to just say music in general is rotting the world, well that hurts my soul a little bit to be honest.
What about Acapella, does that rot the world? Jazz? Classical? Electronic? Gospel? Dance? Easy Listening? Oldies?
The music of today does not rip at the seems of life, whatever you meant by that. There's good messages in music along with the bad, it's always been that way.

I'm sorry, WHAT? lol I would love to know where you got your information because it sounds like you listened to an Eminem album then decided to go on a ranting fit. Yes, how dare we go to concerts and support our favorite bands and create fan-sites. I've never known somebody to start "problems" with people over the music they listen to. Now if you mean teenyboppers going after people who hate Justin Bieber then yeah, that's taking it to a terrible direction. Music is a form of expression, yeah, and people do get really into it. Deal with it. Music can help as much as it can hurt. It's all in how you take it. Just as not all people are bad, not all music is evil. So stop treating it like it is. Music isn't rotting the world, stupid people are.

NO, I think it's still being refined. It takes times for anything to become near good, its not like we know what perfect is. Plus music can't really affect the world, because it's usually blind it loses that when we listen to it and instead of just listening we try to manipulate the words to fit ourselfish needs....

very nice i completely understand and agree. being a music major myself i love all music it's just hard to listen somtimes there are so many sons that if they would just take out ceertain phrases or words or even just replace those w/ something better they could be perfect music i love how our generation can look back and some of us appreciate while others don't like it at all it kind of makes me wonder are future genrations going to be able to look back and say that's an awesome song or will think they think our music is beautiful or complete and utter rubbish. idk just the thoughts of a young mind i guess... anyways i do agree while music can be amajor part of your life it should in no way dictate how you live it ( sorry i talk a lot apparently)

Dude I think you are tuned into the world and the reality of it all. I have been in music for the better part of my life. People need to be able to separate the positive and negative, they need to understand a lot of it is about that person not them, yes you can empathize or have similar experiences but do not loose the realness of yourself. I almost forgot the most important thing out there, you also have people who write music for the MONEY and they will try to get into your head. And the music they put out is about nothing. Cool piece of art keep it real.

Thats completely amazing, music is my entire life, but not in the way you would think. I love to write my own music, to sing to play piano, to listen to music tha actualy has meaning behind it, not the stuff that people write to get on the charts. But I also kind of disagree with you, although music may tear people apart, it also has thing incredible way of bringing people together. music makes the world stop and listen

God, thank you so much for your lovely artist comment and beautiful picture. While cruising youtube I passed by a beautiful mozart piece (one of his well known classics) but I was very saddened to see the first comment underneath which proclaimed mozart as an idiot and then made reference to some heavy metal rocker. Who in that person's oppinion was much better) I myself went on a very long rant defending mozart by explaining that it was just an oppinion and if not a good one, to keep it to themself. People do base their lives off music alot, and there are indeed many artists who don't deserve the popularity they recieve. That is though, just my oppinion

Thank you I am so glad you agree, I too actually listen to a lot of classical since I played the piano and organ and always was in love with the classical genre. I found it offensive when people today just insulted the classical music because it was not what is in with the style today.

I think you're right to a greater extent. Unfortunately music for the sake of music is practically nonexistant now. As a society we have become desensitized and music like all other art forms reflects that. The things that are said on the radio today would have caused an uproar even 20 years ago. It would be nice to go back to the days when music was more of an art form than a way to promote all of the vices that are popular today. I don't know if you could call this my professional opinion but I do have a degree in music. Nice artwork and very insightful.

i should certianly hope not...if that were true, my head would be filled with nothing but greyish mush (not that i'm suggesting it's not)! very nice composition and textures. i like the transition between crisp lines (the guitar neck) and less focused (fuzzy) shapes. nice work!
