Yes, it is your grammar needed to be fixed. You used the wrong adjective to describe the people who think that Hetalia teaches history.

egocentricSHARKS In reply to FirefoxXr9 [2012-06-15 01:28:52 +0000 UTC]

Using the wrong adjective has absolutely nothing to do with grammar. Grammar is the study of how words and their component parts combine to form sentences. It focuses mainly on punctuation, verb tenses, and spelling. But not adjectives.

If you actually, seriously believe that Hetalia can be at level with a history textbook, then I'm sorry but that makes you kind of a moron :/
It's an anime, with random bits of history thrown here and there. It's not a documental. If you actually rely on it to learn about history, then you're not naive, you're a dumbass.

Well Spongebob was created by a marine biologist...and it does have little jokes in it.

I know... But I think people just take it too literally... Hetalia is all fun and games, people shouldn't learn from it or complain about those who think they can; they should just laugh!

Thank you! THANK YOU! I knew about Prussia since I was like... eight. Why? BECAUSE I READ... Plus, as a history buff, fans that think Hetalia teaches history makes me sad inside.

If Hetalia teaches history, then Yoda is real.

Hetalia teaches little history facts, and that IS a fact. But it will NEVER, EVER, in a gazillion years replace a history book. EVER.

No, Hetalia doesn't TEACH History, exactly, anyway. And if people think it can REPLACE learning History at school or whatever, they're wrong. But, that doesn't mean that Hetalia can't encourage people to look more into and research particular countries/points in History. Not saying it does that to everyone. But it does do that.

FearlessLullaby [2012-04-29 18:30:21 +0000 UTC]

Kind of true, Hetalia isn't all that accurate...
However. If it weren't for Hetalia, I wouldn't even know Seychelles, Sealand or Prussia existed.

egocentricSHARKS In reply to FearlessLullaby [2012-04-29 23:16:10 +0000 UTC]

You can just look it up. It's really not that difficult.

FearlessLullaby In reply to egocentricSHARKS [2012-04-30 00:05:16 +0000 UTC]

Uh, not really. If I didn't know it existed, then how am I supposed to look it up?

egocentricSHARKS In reply to FearlessLullaby [2012-04-30 15:24:35 +0000 UTC]

They could teach you about them in school. You can learn things there, too, y'know.

I told my sister something along the same lines: "If Hetalia teaches history, then Invader Zim teaches science."
Of course, I am an Invader Zim fan, but if you think it teaches science, then you are 'tarded.

I see you prove a good point.

I used to think Sponges were not really animals ad spongebob was a joke an underwater sponge. Of course in elementary science I learned and drew a blank.

Hetalia is a show about stereotypes? My ass! half of the stereotypes on this show aren't even accurate!

Poles don't dress in mini skirts
Finns are not bitches
Norwegians are not short! Norway should be as tall as Denmark and Sweden
Icelanders are happy down to earth people not what Iceland is.

EnvyLuvrFMA [2012-02-05 03:25:07 +0000 UTC]

I like Hetalia because it's funny and it taught me a few things. I definitely DO NOT think it replaces a history book, but it definitely did teach me a few things. Like the Austro-Hungarian alliance and stuff. It didn't teach me everything, though, and that inspired me to look for more info. It made me love history, but it is definitely not a tutor. I agree wholeheartedly, as a Hetalia fan, with what you're saying.

Hetalia had no intentions on teaching, but to target idiotic weeaboos to their love of shiney anime pictures and gay men in order to get them into history. Who cares about correct event place or character design? It's anime! All Russians need to be sweetie pies with hidden mental disorders and Italians are all kawaii little fucks.

It's been proven. Maybe not to all, but it's been proven.
