Even though, being a heterosexual male, this isn't usually where my interests lie, this piece truly caught my heart.
You have truly caught the beauty of their relationship. How the sad, love-deprived Shinji finally finds a kind soul who showed him gentleness he never experienced before. The way Shinji sleeps here, at peace and happy, truly shows just how much support Kaworu gave him.
Also the way Kaworu simply hugs him protectively, essentially bathing him in warmth... truly beautiful.
