Genesis 12:1-51 Now Yahweh said to Abram, "Get out of your country, and from your relatives, and from your father's house, to the land that I will show you.
2 I will make of you a great nation. I will bless you and make your name great. You will be a blessing.
3 I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you. All of the families of the earth will be blessed in you."
4 So Abram went, as Yahweh had spoken to him. Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed out of Haran. 5 Abram took Sarai his wife, Lot his brother's son, all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls whom they had gotten in Haran, and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan. Into the land of Canaan they came.

I wouldn't think Abram had grey hairs when this happened. If he did the Sarai should have grey hairs too since they aren't that far apart in age.

Abram, as the scripture notes (Gen. 12:4), was about 75 at this time. His wife was about the same age too. I reasoned that Abram's hair would have been bleached by the sun and turned grayish-white earlier in his life since he was a herdsman and worked outside all the time. Sarai, would not have been in the sun as much, and would have had her head covered as the custom for married women would have been. So her hair may have been "graying" by this time but not white. AND chapter 12 of Genesis goes on to talk about how beautiful and attractive she was (even at this older age) and was even taken into Egypt to be Pharaoh's wife (although she was released when they found out she was married) which made me think that she had a very youthful appearance, even though she was in her 70s. So I decided to make her look as if she was younger to fit with the consistency of the details in the Genesis narrative.... Anyway, that's why I went with what I did.
