The last thing she recognizes is the scent. She’s smelled it before, in training. Her body is growing so cold, so quickly. She knows what it is. It is the new freeze gas the enemy has invented. She has been intercepted. Her mission has been compromised. That is the last thought she will have for many hours. Or perhaps forever.

The person, unseen by the stiff Eileen, stomps out the cigarette that has fallen to the floor and continues to search the room, but finds nothing. Finally, the person leaves, closing the door discreetly after. Eileen is still standing in the same place, frozen solid. It would not help her to know when the gas wears off, or even if it does, because she is no longer conscious. Her body is merely waiting for the possible thaw.
