I really love this image.
I was wondering if it would be okay with you if I recreated this for an art class. We have to take a photo and do a watercolour painting of it. It seems I'm not the only one to request something like this (not surprising!). Would that be okay?

Lovely image. I have a couple ideas though...
First I think the colors are a little too over saturated. The problem is that when you oversaturate (or over contrast) image detail is lost. The tree and shadow areas are classic examples of over contrasting. Might not be a saturation issue though since the flowers and grass seem to have a ton of detail.
The composition is just a bit awkward. The stream leads out of the frame and the tree is just a part player in the scene. In fact, that might be my problem with the image. There are all these parts in it but no real key subject. Tree, flowers, stream, house. All in the frame but none are the key so my eye wanders around not knowing where to stop.
I have this same problem with a lot of my nature work also. George Lepp said "when in doubt move closer". He means tighten up on a frame and make a subject become evident.
This is wonderfully colorful image and the flowers and grass probably would have been enough IMO. Get a close up of that and it would be a treat...
