Gryffgirl [2013-01-11 01:16:58 +0000 UTC]

That is a very cool photo. I have a fascination for photos of old derelict things (houses, cars, machines). I always wonder: Who owned it? What was it used for? Why is it still here?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

EintoeRn In reply to Gryffgirl [2013-01-12 08:29:12 +0000 UTC]

Thank you, Gryffgirl. And I am sure that your feelings and ideas about old things are shared by quite a few of us. Often theses pictures are interesting as they make us think about the past and maybe even as well about the future.

What a nice idea. I am sure that when you find the right spell to open one of the boxes you will certainly find something REALLY important there !
Caongratulations to the new job, my friend. btw.

RichardLeach [2013-01-10 21:43:15 +0000 UTC]

This is already in my faves but I will comment again. It's a photo of something so worn out and useless that it's a surprise it is still there. Worn out, decayed things send the visual message "I should not be here" - yet they still are there! - and so attract us to look. It can be on a bigger scale than this - abandoned houses, abandoned ships...

EintoeRn In reply to RichardLeach [2013-01-10 22:02:35 +0000 UTC]

You did ? Came across this picture and thought once more about times flying away. Almost two years and it feels like yesterday. Now it is almost on year without a vacation ....

RichardLeach In reply to EintoeRn [2013-01-10 22:08:02 +0000 UTC]

Yikes. Time to get away. Or at least to plan to get away.

A very intriguing image. This cluster of different materials and textures works very well! Somehow reminds me of a rag-and-bone shop.

Thanks. And yes, I believe that it works. Though in a different way as I was thinking. That old vending machine caught my eye and the disappointing thing was that the lower half can not be seen as there is a lot of garbage in front of it But I agree, the upper part looks just hilarious

Thank you, dear. I am wondering what they might have sold in this machine. The old Sitzmann warehouse was just round the corner, but they provide nothing that I could imagine to be sold in a vending machine (also in the past)
