strong winds are tough and fun at the same time when it comes to photography. when i was still yachting a day like this would have been more challenging. not so much out at sea, but arriving in a dark port in the middle of the night and having to maneuver in close space to find a safe berthing ....

This sort of weather situation is typical for a southwesterly created by a depression over the Atlantic Ocean further south. It brings in a lot of warm air which transforms into clouds and rain when it meets the cooler air in the north ...
