I have ordered a new iMac. Now I have found out that there is no way to update to Aperture 3.6 which is necessary for the new operating system. Long discussions in the forum already.
So now I shall cancel the order and we shall see who is giving up first. Me or my trustworthy computer. Most annoying attitude with regard to the customer who has purchased a "professional" application

I do not know about the iMac but on my macbook with the latest operating system El Capitan I have Aperture 3.6 installed?

They offer it only to those customers who have purchased Aperture via AppStore.
Old fashioned customers who have purchased Aperture on an old fashioned CD-ROM are not obliged to an update.
There are about 35,000 captures stored and edited in my library and I am really scared about this issue.
My old one is working well so far, but I am out of the way with recent updates of browsers and Skype and more applications ...

Check this link, I have not used the new Photos but at least they say that the work of Aperture can be exported into Photos! Could be that they will have Photos as good as Aperture????
