"i wish all the pain could just go away.....i wish i just couldnt feel it...." Ed looked up, hearing a shreaking noise.
a jet black crow flew down towards her, and hovered infront of her.
"i will take the pain away, but to do this i must take your heart." it said.
"but if you take my heart, i cannot love"
"you cannot give up misery and pain without giving up all of your other emotions, ed. there is a sacrifice for everything."
ed looked away, a tear slipped down her face.

"then take it...." she whispered, looking back at the bird.
she drew a claw along her chest, and pulled out her heart. it was black, but beating.
she handed it to the crow, who tied it on a string and flew away swiftly.
the hole in her chest closed, but she did not notcie. rain hit her face, but the love she had felt for the rain before was not there. suddenly she wanted to feel that again. she flew after the crow, but could not catch up with it.
the rain fell, but ed felt nothing. she lay on the ground, not breathing, not moving, not feeling any pain, not feeling any happiness.....
