Description I thought of share my Complete Collection of the Star Wars Original Trilogy on home Media. I have a Passion to the franchise as It's my biggest fan favorite series fanbase with My Little Pony (Both G4 and G5) as Number 2 and Enjoyed every single one of them (Including the Prequels and not so much to the Sequels). Ever since getting into the Star Wars Franchise I had no Idea that George Lucas (writer, Producer and director) would make so much Infamous changes to his Movies and every variants on different Medias that People today would have to buy and watch now.

So today I'd thought of Sharing my Star Wars OG Trilogy Home Medias, and of course Include some Fan Edits that I may Recommend and a upcoming fan edit that hope would be something of Interest. And also will share what version has the Infamous changes in each Medias.

1988 - 1992 VHS: Re-released since they made their first debut from 1982 of the First Movie "Star Wars" along side Empire Strikes Back 1984 and Return of the Jedi 1986. My father introduced me and my Sister the version he remembered as their the only way to watch the OG Uncut versions on VHS. However for the First Movie if people seen it in theaters wouldn't noticed that Lucas added in the opening title what will be now known as "Episode 4 A new Hope" since the other two will also be titled "Episode 5 the Empire Strikes Back" and "Episode 6 Return of the Jedi" for each opening. Also there was added Dialogue onto C-3PO during R2 Scanning the layout of the Death Star's Tractor Beam, These would be one of Lucas's earliest Special Editions that isn't just the added CGI Effects. There is also a bigger Boxset known as "Letterbox Collector's Edition" as it has a Widescreen viewing since most Star Wars Movies on VHS are better known for their Full Screen Viewing Experience, But don't own that as I stuck with just the small boxset for now.

1995 "Faces" VHS: Unlike the Original VHS Release, this one Had the New Edition of "THX" that help with better sound quality. and it should be noted that these would be the last time the original versions of these movies would be released until the 2006 dvd re-release. these have the covers of each character's faces closeup with a event playing from the movie below them hints the name "Faces" for Star Wars 1995 CHS Release.

1997 "SPECIAL EDITIONS" VHS: The Versions that began my Interest of Star Wars and what began my Crusade to collect every variants of Star Wars Home Media. When Star Wars Was close to it's 20th Anniversary George Released his Movies once again on VHS which will be known as the "Star Wars Trilogy Special Editions". With the Evolution of the Computer Graphic Imagery (AKA CGI) Effects George decided to add his OG Movies with these as well edit the movie the way he "Originally Envisioned" which disappointed a couple of fans as these Special Editions have changes like Han and Jabba at Docking bay 94 (Originally a Deleted Scene, Also 2004's DVD Special Edition fixes Jabba's model to be more like his Episode 1 and 6 appearance.), Luke's Scream in Empire (A Re-used Audio of the Emperor's Death scream in ROTJ), Jedi Rock, the Sarlacc pit having more Tentacles and a beak, and of course the Infamous "Who shot first" Han or Greedo as it's been a common change in later Editions. Occasionally there are some good changes like the new Improved Battle of Yavin, more Scenery of Cloud City, and Victory Celebration replacing "Yub Nub", There are more to talk about Including the Editing and adding new Dialogue, but it's best to watch YouTube videos with better Annalistic as well details. You may of noticed I have two copies of those as the reason is that the one of the Left (Gold) is the Full Screen Version as this is the one I grew up with, while the Right (Silver) being the Widescreen Version.

2004 DVD "SPECIAL EDITIONS": When DVD came out, Star Wars was no Stranger to the new way on viewing movies than VHS Tapes, However the only Star Wars movies came out on DVD where Episode 1 and 2. The OG Trilogy will get their DVD Release later on, However More Changes by Lucas where Now more Notable than ever Such as Obi-Wan's Krayt Dragon Cry changing (2011 version gets more Ridiculous later on), Boba Fett now Voiced by Temuera Morrison (who played as Jango Fett in Episode 2 and to keep continuity since Boba is now a Clone of Jango), The Emperor is now played by Ian McDiarmid replacing the Original Actor Marjorie Eaton with heavy make up and having Chimpanzee eyes while being Dubbed by Chive Revill (Notably the Dialogue was more different than the original lines), Hayden Christensen now Played Anakin instead of Original actor Sebastian Shaw in the final Scene (Lucas said "after redemption, Anakin returned to his "inner persona," once one with the Force, and appeared the way he was before he turned to the dark side of the Force". It's still a Decisive change, But could of been better with proper direction and of course this change is now Canon since the Ahsoka Series clearly went with the Hayden Force Ghost route.

2006 DVD Re-Release "Limited Edition": Same as the 2004 versions, But included a second Disc that has the Original Theatrical Cuts. Notably according to Wookieepedia the 2nd discs of the OG Cuts where just taken straight from the 1993 Laserdisc (Which I should note That I don't own Laserdisc, or any of the Original Copies of Star Wars) and this is now another way to watch the OG Uncut versions of the Original Trilogy on Disc, Or so George Lucas thinks.

2011 Blu-Ray "SPECIAL EDITIONS": Prior to Lucas selling the Rights to Walt Disney, Lucasfilms release the Complete Saga for the first time on Blu-Ray with a new Higher Definition than any Standard DVD Quality. But as it Turns out that Lucas for the Last time (up till 2019's Editions which will get too later) Had More Changes and things added That are what we have today Including R2 hiding in a CGI Rock, Ewoks now Blink Digitally, Vader's Infamous "NO!" and Jabba's Palace entrance appears more bigger with a camera zoom. Oh and of course another edit of "Who Shot First" where both Han and Greedo both shoot at the same time. Now you might of Noticed that I have 2011-2013 in the Image as the Reason for that is in 2013, Both the Prequels and the Original would have their Own Separate Blu-Ray release instead of them being together and they also Included DVD with them as they are the Same Blu-Ray Port. So Basically the 2013 Blu-ray release is the same as the 2011 release but in different Packaging.

2015 Blu-Ray Steelbook Limited Edition: Speaking of Different Packaging, in 2015 a limited edition of all 6 episodes we're Release that focuses on some of the named characters as their main covers with the original posters behind the slip cover, nothing to special as they are the same Blu-ray discs from 2011.

2020 4K ULTRA HD: By the year of the Pandemic and for the first time, Disney Release Episode 1-7 on 4K Ultra HD. the Original Trilogy in fact we're ports from Disney+ from 2019 Same with the art cover for Blu-Ray's Re-release Which I did own, but it's the same Blu-Ray port from 2011. It did have a Unique art cover as it is my new favorite Modern cover of Star Wars. the Picture Quality is now more different from the 2011 Blu-ray port as It was made to be more High Def since it is 4K Quality, The "Who Shot first Scene" once again has been edited by Lucas as Greedo said "ma klounkee" as the editing was more quick and cropped off some of the shoots as it's the same with the other editions of the films with removed clips (especially when people get shot in some scenes more notably the detection block shootout). Either way nothing to special as their wasn't too much changes in these.

BONUSES

DESPECIALIZED EDITION: Now George Lucas Said there is no way how to bring back the original Theatrical cuts as the Original versions are now lost media. However it almost sounded like George never wanted to release the Original uncut of the OG Films in HD and it's all it OG Glory, So Fans actually take things into their own hands and edited the movies while trying too use old sources and Previous Editions of the Original Trilogy. Enter Harmy's Despecialized Editions made by Petr Harmáček with a couple of help of other Star Wars fans, these edit made the Original Theatrical cuts look more High Definition, They use different source materials for Color timing and looked carefully on how they are formatted back in 1977 and so on. It's by far the Most viewed versions of the Original Trilogy in it's original un-altered glory.

PROJECT4K: Another Star Wars fan edit of the Original Trilogy without any of the Special Editions edits is Project4K by Team Negative they made 4K77 (That's the First Star Wars Movie), They did their Best to make the best was the Make the Original Movies into a more 4K viewing experience and It looks gorgeous now in 4K.

ADYWAN's REVISIED EDTION: Unlike any of the Special Editions This fan edit combines both Theatrical and Special Editions into one, and Pretty much is a Fan edit on what the Special Editions looked like with more added special effects and does seem decent from experience. So far only Episodes 4 and 5 are made while Return of the jedi is still in working progress.

*COMING SOON* THE FINAL CUT: Thx to my Good friend Stephen-Fisher sharing me a trailer to a upcoming fan edit of Star Wars that is the Special Editions, but still maintaining the Original Theatrical cuts. I did had a dream and thoughts on a Star wars edit that has both Theatrical and Special Editions combined to make it like the first Original Blade Runner with it's different editions and it's "Final Cut". And seeing it got me so excited as I wanted to see how David Kaylor will pull off this new style of the Original trilogy.

Here's trailer if interest
