Hello there!
I'm from ProjectComment 's weekly commenting project and I dropped by to give you some constructive feedback on your artwork.
Let's begin with my overall impression.
The artwork is well composed, you can see the two characters are well framed despite their size differences. Their faces are centred, bringing the viewer's focus to the point of interest. But I noticed the quality of detail decreases to the outer sides of the image for one, helping with setting the focus towards the centre again but also looking bitter and lazy to some extend. I would have cropped the image to hide these parts honestly, as every flaw pulls the impression down more than a good detail can help with impression. Just a small rule of thumb to memorize: an uninspired work without flaws looks better than a very detailed one with many flaws.
That being said, I can still continue with praise for you as you managed to strive for something I don't see often or isn't very well executed either. You really try to bring some visual variety out by featuring different materials. The teeth, fur, sections around the eye and the ominous object on the wolf's forehead. I can only suggest to keep that up as it helps not to look monotonous and add interest to your work.
If I had to give you some more advice in that regard, it would be to try to bring out sharper brush work around the eyes. See the teeth? They're probably the most presentative about your whole work because they are the sharpest looking shapes in your artwork, the rest seems very blurred out and lacks fokus and interest to look around and explore your canvas. Certainly, that's not very easy t achieve in painting and I still shy away from attempting that myself so I'm not demanding in any way, just take it as some words of advice for your artistic road ahead.
lastly, I wanted to regard your use of texture to make your artworks seem traditional. I get that it's a way to make it look more stylised but it somewhat distracts me personally. This artwork doesn't suffer so much from it but I have seen your other work The Cleric and it was much more distracting there as it looks like you've selectively added this texture to certain areas of your artwork. I'd rather have the whole image be affected by this texture than only a few parts to smuggle in this effect.
I recommend you to check this video out, it goes in more detail than I could manage it in a bold comment: youtu.be/0Dbf63YnkeA?t=109
And that's about it for my comment, I hope you found it helpful and I wish you good luck and much fun with your future artworks.

It's very delightful to hear that you want to take it to heart and improve from this point on.
I think nothing is really cheating in an artwork, if a method works for you, you should try to think about what you can do with it and include it into your drawing process.
And I thank you back for wishing the best for my journey as well as yours
Keep it up!
