Description
This piece here was my very last piece I drew for my art class and technically my last piece as an undergrad. For the whole semester, every drawing had to do with mixed media and experimenting with the materials to match your theme. It was fun and all but nothing felt "me" enough. Our final assignment was to do anything. Yup. She said anything so I did. I picked up my colored pencils and told her my "theme" for this drawing is "me". It is the embodiment of who I am, what I like to do, and how I achieve it. I also made this piece to become part of a series of backlit horses. The first one is here in my gallery: [link]

I chose a miniature horse because this is a gift to my parents and they have a real fondness for these little guys so it was an obvious choice.

I had a reference for the horse (can no longer find the google image I used) but the rest of it was from my brain. Prismacolor colored pencils on Canson paper.

EDIT: I did a scan and used that instead of the photograph. The colors are more accurate in this (though not totally). It just looked a bit better this way.
