Description
Dracula is a fictional vampire created by Irish author Bram Stoker. The character first appeared in Stoker's 1897 novel, "Dracula," which tells the story of the vampire Count Dracula and his attempt to move from Transylvania to England so that he may find new blood and spread the undead curse, and of the battle between Dracula and a small group of people led by Professor Abraham Van Helsing.
In the novel, it is said that Count Dracula is over 500 years old and he has been vampire for centuries, he was born in 1431 in the Castle of Dracula in Transylvania. He was once a nobleman and a brave soldier, but became a vampire after making a pact with the devil. He has since lived in his castle deep in the Carpathian Mountains, preying on the local population and searching for new victims.
Dracula is known for his hypnotic powers, his ability to shapeshift into a bat or wolf and his vulnerability to sunlight and religious symbols. The vampire is also said to be immortal, although he can be killed by a wooden stake through the heart or by being exposed to sunlight.
The novel has become one of the most famous vampire stories of all time and has been adapted into countless movies, TV shows, and stage productions. The character of Dracula has become synonymous with the vampire legend and continues to be a popular figure in popular culture.
It is interesting to notice that Stoker based his vampire character on the real historical figure of Vlad Tepes "Dracul", a Wallachian prince who was known for his cruel methods of punishment and his fondness for impaling his enemies. He was also known as Vlad the Impaler and DrΔculea, from which the name "Dracula" is derived. - Support and get it for only 100 points !!!Follow for more - (Be PREMIUM for more... )
