The figure in the mask looks so haunted. Kind of like a living ghost. It makes me want to know what his story is. Why is he wearing that mask and why does it look like he's spying on the couple on the balcony below him?

Wow! The blue really contrasts with the lanternsβ it's like there's a warmth there, but maybe a hidden darkness. The shapes and shadows really imply that there's symbolism behind this piece. With the bright lights and with minimal people, the scene looks desolate and lively all at once.
It's very lovely.

At any rate I like how the lanterns blaze a trail of light trhough the night while leaving the asked character halfway in darkness, just about to burst into the light and doβ¦ whatever he willβ¦
