This is just a diagram for general equine anatomy.UPDATED I:
I was surprised by how popular this got. So I updated it to make it more accurate.
I did trace the horse outline directly from/over a photograph of Nate. You shouldn't need any more proof of how accurate this proportioning system is then that. Outline traced off of a Quarter Horse !

QUESTION:
Would anyone be interested in me doing this for other breeds or other poses??? I think it should be the same... so I wouldn't unless someone else thought it would be a good idea... maybe I should

You saved me! I'm new to the whole not-tracing thing, and I'm drawing a show-entry that just looked completely wrong, until I tried to make a measurement with 'one head length' of the horse, and I realized the hindquarters was half the length it should be. You are an angel!

This has been sooooo useful to me! I did forget to cut it out here , BUT, your name is on it, and this will be deleted later (because it's a commission sketch) but I did want to show you (lol, if you wanna look, if not you can take my word for it) how much using this improved an original sketch (I usually use references, but as this is commission...)
