The girl wearing the hat looks realistic to me... do you mean because she's airbrushed and has symmetric freckles? Ah, ok⦠I see the comment by ~elanesse-v; so do you mean doll like?
I don't mind that⦠it's better than the even more plastic looking 3D work some artists mix into their art.
Maybe she's just too well lit for you? A real person would have "warmer" skin tones?

Basically, it can be broken down into, this.
Black looks blacker when its sitting next to white.
Most great surreal photos look so surreal, because it takes normal, sometimes serious REAL things, and puts their pants on their head.
Like a talking fish head in a tuxedo, or a flaming pair of bollox dangling from the queens ears of a ship sailing the sands of the desert unterneath the night sky from star wars.
All these (off the top of my head) concepts go from being cool, to being surreal and awesome, when the bizzare aspect of the picture looks realistic and believable.
If the fish head in a tux looks drawn, or plasitc, it looks silly and fun, if it looks like the mand GENUINELY has a fish head, then youre in a whole new ball game.
