"I Am Half-Sick of Shadows," Said the Lady of Shalott.This is Gemma Doyle from the Gemma Doyle trilogy by the fantastic Libba Bray! If you haven't read these books, I highly recommend them, especially for girls. (They're very, very female-oriented.) I read them when I was a little younger, but Libba Bray is wonderfully witty, not to mention the added bonuses of boarding schools, things that go bump in the night, and ball gowns.
If you haven't read the series and prefer instead to think of this as a victorian Lily Evans/Potter, by all means go ahead. They technically share similar features I suppose, even though I would draw Lily a lot differently. Enjoy!

I'll be sure to listen when I have a chance! As a kid one of my lullaby albums was Loreena McKennitt, who sings the entire poem. When the poem was featured in the book that this character is from, it was like a piece of my childhood and I got really excited, haha.

One of my favorite parts is when Gemma is listing the not so great characteristcs about her and says "somehow she is one of my best friends". It always makes me laugh!
I like Felicity because we have a lot in common, especially with having to show the world your someone your not.
