Lol, this is too cute.
Nezumi, don't make that face! We all know that no matter how hard Safu tries, she fails with pickup lines (first episode anyone?) and that Sion will always choose Nezumi. XD But it is good to know that Nezumi cares enough to fell jealous ^.^

It is true that Nezumi never really learn about love, and he would be afraid to admit the love he had for Sion since it is basically a death sentence out in the 'real world' to show emotions because emotions equals weakness. Some people might hate me for saying this, but at the end of the anime series, I think it is a good idea for Nezumi to leave Sion, if only for a while. Nezumi needs to come to terms with his attraction with Sion, and distance will teach him that what he is feeling is in fact, not wrong. We all know Sion would understand Nezumi's dilema, and will wait for him until the end of times.
I do not blame you for analyzing them. Nezumi's tragic hero like character is way too fun to play around with. I blame my English teach for making me looking way too deep to find symbolisms that are probably not even there.

That is probably because Sion and Safu had a long history/relationship with each other since they were small. And Nezumi only met Sion once before the actual plot started. Hence the jealousy

Yeah... They're good friends and she suggested what she did (No coincidence the first words they spoke after 4 years was exactly then)... I believe he got jealous even when the prostitute kissed him... He only acts like he doesn't love Shion because he's too afraid to admit it to himself, but, when someone else is looking at Shion and he believe they may have a chance he becomes all green and protective of his territory

Which makes it even more hilarious since Sion all but clings to Nezumi and refuse to let go, and Nezumi doesn't see that as a sign of affection at all. I think Nezumi is actually afraid that if Sion see how the real world is and how badass and 'evil' Nezumi is then Sion will leave him. *Insert aww here*

Maybe... I believe some of his "badass" behavior is kind of a mask. An attitude... He's afraid to open up and show his real self to the world because of everything he's been through... Like a wall as a defense mechanism.
He's terrified of getting attached to someone, because of that he keeps pushing Shion away and telling him over and over again not to get attached to anybody ever. He really believe he's doing him a favor. Like you said, Shion showers him with unconditioned love he doesn't know how to deal with him. During the series he's struggling very hard not to get attached to Shion. One point when it shows clearly is the part when, after they dance, Shion
touches his neck just because he was worried about him and Nezumi feels like Shion is a threat to his life.
They both were in-love since the first time they've met. Shion admit it right away to himself, Nezumi admits it close to the end of the series. Even then he tries to get back to acting all badass when he tries to tell Shion he was never interested in saving Safu. He realize he can't fake it anymore. (Plus... He's physically hurt...)
Sorry for the long message... I just love analyzing them. Especially Nezumi. He's so interesting!

Lol I blame my literature teacher in high-school for it. Always did ^-^ Nezumi is so much fun! I'm not sure emotions = death sentence. People even in the "real world" like the dogkeeper talk about how close, tough and arrogant Nezumi is I believe it's in order to show that even in the tough places he's extra closed. I hated when Nezumi left as much as the next fangirl. He fought for Shion's life, he experienced so many emotions he repressed for so long, he worked so hard to keep him safe and keep them together, he finally realized he love Shion and want to be with him, even when everything seemed hopeless he never gave up on Shion and he was the only one who stayed by him in the most touching scene I have ever seen in my life. After all of that right when everything could have been perfect he simply stood up and left with what appears to be no reason beside ending the show already. I'll never agree with him, but, after analyzing him in my head (fun fun) and reading a bit of the manga... I understood why he did what he did. I believe he couldn't deal with everything, raising a baby, everything is going great, nothing to fight for, no need to be in a basic survival mode, most of all - going to live inside the walls of the city that was built on the death of his people. Plus, Like with the Safu jealousy thing he steps aside saying to himself things like "he'll probably want to be with his mother more that he wants to be with me" and "he'll probably would have had sex with Safu and I was in their way" which is bulls#!t. I want to believe you're right. That the distance will make him realize he wants to be with Shion. I just hoped he realized that when he thought he lost him in that correctional facility

Lol, my last comment was pretty long XD. Sorry about that again.
If you don't mind me pointing out, I think when you say "[Sion]'ll be sophisticated by his mother.." I think you actually meant "suffocated". Correct me if I am wrong. And what you say is true, any mother would just love to have their child stay with them forever. My mom is the same way in that I have to be in contact with her all the time, even if it is just from school. I would be really interested to see a meeting between Sion's mother and Nezumi. On one hand, Sion helped Nezumi when they were kids and got kicked out of the genius program thingie and then got him in a life threatening situation. On the other hand, the mother didn't seem at all bothered by the first situation, and is probably glad that Sion came back in one piece with Nezumi's help. In fact, she would probably be curious about who Nezumi is that make Sion pines after him so much after 1 meeting.
The baby, I admit I try not to think about the poor thing since I don't think Sion is actually ready for that kind of responsibility. My head cannon is that Sion's mother will take care of him/her, or that they find a loving family for it. -.- I do seem kinda mean don't I? Sion would probably be more of a brother/uncle to it anyway, be involved but not totally involve. Which pegs the question of who is Sion's father and what happened to him. One thing I really doubt is that Nezumi being a father, not with his current mental state. I don't know if you have seen the lastest No.6 manga chapter? The one where Inukashi when undercover as a prostitute in order to gain information? In the anime, they didn't the interrogation. Sion went after Inukashi to comfort her. But in the manga chapter 14, Sion got to witness Nezumi questioning the guy, and wow, he could be brutal. What went on was basically torture and the look on Nezumi's face was purely sadistic. Makes me scare of what would happen to Nezumi's and Sion's relationship with each other if Nezumi can't heal.
I do not think the wall will forever be a barrier between them. They can of course communicate with mouse-mail. If worse comes worse and Nezumi refuse to stay in No.6, I believe they could almost reform other numbered cities, and live in them, or create a city of their own. With Sion's intelligence and informations, and Nezumi's will, I don't think anything is really impossible with them.

Lol, it seems that your comments gets longer with each posts.
The term "death sentence" isn't exactly what I was looking for. After much thinking, what I wanted to convey was that there was a lack of empathy in the outside world. Take Inukashi for example. She(or is she a he?)is afraid of dying and wants Nezumi to sing for her and her dogs. She clearly love her dog family and was ridiculed by Nezumi for her fears. Inukashi in turn makes fun of Nezumi for willing to help Sion break in to the correctional facility to free Safu. Also, no one really cares what happen to each other beyond the wall of No.6. I mean it is a place where there is prostitution, Nezumi have to crossdress as a girl to make a living, and a dead body just lays there waiting for someone to dispose of. Emotions would only be seen as weak in that world (think wide-eyed Sion walking around in the market and getting himself in trouble).
As for Nezumi leaving Sion. You might hate me for this but bear with me and imagine what would happen if Nezumi stayed in No.6.
Sion would be preoccupied with rebuilding his relationships with his mother, mourning for Safu's death, and rebuilding No.6 (since this is Sion that we are talking about, he will definately be involved).
Nezumi will see that as avoidance since he:
a)Feels that Sion's mother would probably hate him for taking away Sion's chance in the elites/smart people thingy, and for putting him in danger and in a situation where he have to kill someone, therefore, I don't know, tainting him somehow? Nezumi clearly stated that he wished Sion doesn't change from his loving self, but as we can see, Sion's yandere self shines forth and Nezumi probably regrets that.
b)Feels that it is his fault somehow that causes Safu's death and Sion would blame him. He would also think somewhere along the line how Safu would be safer for Sion to be with.
c)Hates No.6 with passion
Nezumi being himself would start to be a tsundere and goes "oh I don't need him anyway" even though he clearly stayed for Sion and he would then start to feel trapped in No.6.
Now, with distance, Nezumi can come to terms with his past. He can put all of that baggage behind him and come to terms with his guilt. When he come back to No.6, it would be rebuilt and different from the city that he hated. There's also the saying that distance makes that heart grows fonder, being away from Sion will only make Nezumi realizes how much he misses and loves him.

Wow your comments are getting longer too XD
I agree with some of the things you say, but, some I see different. Of course, Shion's mom would be thrilled to finally meet this Nezumi guy in person. (I wonder what Shion would say when she'll ask him who is this Nezumi for him...) In her eyes he's the one who took care and brought her son back home. The problem now, with the baby and his mother over protecting him (because she lost him once she wouldn't want to lose him again) and Nezumi hating the city and afraid to have his free spirit tamed as a ordinary family man. I don't think that his guilt feelings about Safu affects him so much he knows the truth behind what happened to her and he has no problem pointing the blame toward the facility when needed. The only thing he regrets is putting Shion in a position when he shot a guy. This entire situation is going to put Shion in a really annoying place. He'll be sophisticated by his mother, wanting to be with Nezumi. How long can a person live with his mother?? Plus he needs to take care of this baby, his mom will help, but, the baby needs his father. About Nezumi... He'll just sit around in his house eating his heart out. "Should I go there?" "Will they accept me?" "Can I stay inside the walls without hating myself?" I want to believe that after a LOT of mouse-mail time Shion would convince Nezumi to come visit only for a day. Basically this whole "inside the walls or out" will always come between them. Maybe it all depends on how much interaction is going to be between the sides now after there's no wall...

English is my second language too, so do not worry, I feel your pain ^.^
Nezumi is an awesome badass who I think is slightly psychotic, just a tad bit. I love his bad side, it is too bad that they toned it down in the anime. I personally think that Nezumi channeled his sensitive/fluffy side through theater/as Eve (just a small thing, I think Nezumi dressing up as a girl is totally hilarious). I am somewhat annoyed at the fact Sion is a total whoopie but I am sasitied at the fact that when someone threatens his loved ones, then he goes batsh!t insane trying to protect them. It would be interesting to see their family dynamic and how the baby would turn out to be if they did raise that child together. Robo-mice would make for nice pets wouldn't they.? Talking about mice, I am surprise Sion's mother did not shriek and took it so well at the fact that there was actually mice in her home. Seeing as she work as a baker, rodents could mean a complete ruin in business.
