Description I suck at coloured pencils! It is just too hard... But I had to draw him with the glasses.

The Specs of Sex!

This reminds me that I promised myself I'd start experimenting with colour. That was 2 years ago. I'm still terrifed of doing fully coloured portraits. I think I should get an extremely expensive set of coloured pencils. Then I'd feel bad about not using them and actually draw something.

I'm going to be all weird and say that the mouth is my favourite bit of this drawing. Very Tennant-y. Excellent work.

I'm sure you'll be brilliant at colour portraits, you just need to take the leap! I got a really expensive set of coloured pencils (Derwent, in a drool-worthy wooden box) from my parents when I received my BA last year, so I can tell you it does give some incentive Only problem is that it freaks me out that some pencils are now shorter than others.

Thanks! I used about 5 different colours of brown on his eyes, as I kept being dissatisfied with the outcome. Guess I got it right in the end.
