Description
In the first issue in 2010 of the Russian magazine “Вокруг Света» (Around the World) there is the article by Pavel Sidorkin named "The Whales: Gallop to Sea", telling about evolution of ancestors of modern whales and dolphins.

I had the great luck to illustrate it!

Certainly, the appearance of each of these ancient “companions” is restored by scientists with accuracy on the found bones and a teeth. Specific signs and, a way of life and an inhabitancy of those animals also have been defined by paleontologists and biologists. And, as a result, the theory of evolution of the whale is made.
So it’s told in aforementioned article.

A little about magazine. It’s Soviet, and nowadays the Russian analogue of such editions, as “GEO” and “National Geographic” with an impressive history (issued since 1861), enjoying confidence and the high status among readers. A magazine site: [link]
