Mio and Melio are both characters of my fictive world robinia. While you learned already a bit about each of them in their own paintings, the two of them also share a life together. They have known each other principally since Melio was sent to train in the robinian army at the age of 14. Not knowing any of the other lads he became close with the only other outsider, the privileged prince of the empire, Mio's older brother. While they became close friends, Mio had her own troubles fighting heavy illness and her inner demons. Although Mio and Melio met each other many times, they only knew the names of each other. After the attack of the northmen, their paths were separated, but only for a short time, as Melio happened to land as a fisher on the same island, Mio fled to three years ago. Talking about her brother brought back the memory of her beloved siblings, and soon Mio began projecting those same feelings on the man telling her those stories.

working process
Their characters probably couldn't be more different, in Melio searching for a woman to share his life with, while Mio constantly switches between uncontrollable passion and thirst for emotional security. I wanted to portrait those characteristics in their expression and also attitude. While Melio is desperatly demanding her devotion, she is on top (of the relationship) controlling both tempo and passion according to her current mood. I LOVE their different skin colors. I guess I have said that many times before, but it's so exciting getting to play with those different colors and seeing how great they match together. I love the diversity of our world, and I want my fictive world to look the same. While I loved doing the lace corsage, I hated his T-Shirt and underwear xD I guess I just worked to long on this picture, and lost my breath at the end. This was a hell lot of work, having two characters instead of one in challenging angles, but I am also very proud of the final result. I hope you will like it as much as I do ^-^ This is also the last picture for me to have done in 2017, and I have to say, what an incredible year. As I only recently really started with digital art, I have to say that I am happy about every new picture, as I still see that I am improving in many parts. Sure, some pictures are stronger than others in certain parts, but overall I feel that thats it's getting better, and there is still much space above me for 2018 xD This is why I also wanted to include this last work in the Best of 2017 contest, which is very awesome ^-^
