Zack & Aerith
For Cloud, they were people whom he can never forget. The two irreplaceable people, Zack, “who was sent to death because of him”, and Aerith, “who met a tragic fate as he couldn’t protect her” became “the unforgivable sin” in his heart.
I really love when SE gave a balance of Zack’s portion in Could’s guilty. So, I hate when some Clerith shippers underrate him on Cloud’s heart, ACC had made it better that both of them are Cloud's dear friends equally.
And yes, I’m a huge Zerith fan. When I made the black box above, I felt sob that they’re tragic couple but I’m glad now they’re together. (they remove Aerith’s appearance on “Calling” credit and is it just me seeing zerith’s hint on last two pictures?)

Zack and Aerith are both important to Cloud. I loved the ACC ending... seeing the Buster Sword in the church. That was so beautiful. Thanks for making this.

Love Zaerith. And am always glad for more Zack in any form. Plus, adding more Zack into AC is one way to shove it into Claerith fans that Cloud is merely clinging to a memory of dear friends, rather than the beloved ..

But there are die-hard Claerith fans who INSIST on TOTAL love hints in VII and AC/C. Now, maybe if I had the pink glasses on, I might see it, but .. I see nothing that somehow hints that Aerith had more than a momentary You-are-like-my-boyfriend thing for Cloud and then dumped him.

Well, I believe Aerith had moved on in Gold Saucer date. I couldn't blame anyone who lost their beloved because of death then love someone new, that's fair and normal (but please don't bring the shit fanon MoTP novella that very underrate Zack). The matter is I doubt Cloud feel the same since he had crushed on Tifa first. So, I'm happy ACC made it clear.
I wonder what hint or argument could Clerith fans still bring from ACC? From VII and AC, maybe yes. But, we can throw out AC after ACC exchanged and completed it. If they can admit FF7 as a compilation not only the original game, they should stop. If they couldn't, that's their sick problems.

I read Maiden and am glad that it has pretty much been dropped from canon - I don't think it's even listed in any newer listings of VII. Felt like a fanfic, just published.
Well, die-hard fans continue that Aerith's appearance to Cloud IS absolute canon and means love and not just spiritual guidance ..

No no no, masamune is hotter for Aerith. He wasted his longer sword when stabbed Cloud but he stabbed her longer and took it slowly. It can't be seperated. Sperith is the official pairing.

So that's why Cloud only stood there when Aerith died. He was shocked that his beloved's sword will penetrate and he was furious at her for being her. That makes helluva more sense than the REST of that goddamn game!
Yeah, I don't get the arguments. Maybe I'm too taken in by Crisis Core, but I just don't see ANY romance in VII that might somehow seem real.

I know how you feel, Clerith fans makes it sound like Cloud was only feeling guilty about Aerith's death in AC, when clearly he was feeling guilty about both Zack and Aerith's death equally.
