Description Wattled salamander fish Ictambulus barbosi: This fish, descendant of some sort of loach [link] , can be found in stagnant marsh zones and bogs from tropical Europe; itΒ΄s especially common at Northern Marshlands.
Salamander fish is perfectly adapted to such types of water habitats with low concentration of oxygen: it is able to breath from air, absorbing oxygen through special intestinal tegument (an hability inherited from its ancestors); nevertheless this is not always effective and the animal may crawl in the ground from one pond to another; for this purpose it has developed broad, muscular pectoral and pelvian fins, which, with the help of the tail, allow the animal to easily move through the terrain, and overcome great distances. Not to hinder while moving on the ground, dorsal and anal fins are quite reduced.
Characteristic wattles of this fish are both for sensitive and camouflating purpose.

So what is it? a salamander or a fish? I see it's a fish in the description, but it could be either way judging by the mere looks! Great job!
