Story time!

theres a story sometimes told around campfires in the mud kingdom, that on still nights when the fog rolls in over the marsh, you may meet a spectral Icewing who wanders old war battlefields, a halberd or sometimes a sword drifting beside them, the weapon that killed them perhaps.
they say its the soul of a solider killed in the battle who still lingers looking for revenge or perhaps it doesn't even realise its dead.
if your ever unlucky enough to encounter this spirt don't call out to it as it will vanish from this world retuning to wherever it is the dead rest, leaving you with the feeling of cold dead eyes on your back and what ever you do never look it in those eyes because this time when it varnishes, it will take you with it.

ghost is a young rain/ice hybrid, who has semi translucent scales that involuntarily fade in and out giving him his odd ghostly appearance.

Ghosts mother Permafrost was an Icewing solider who wile not an animus herself she had a steel gauntlet that was enchanted to let the wearer control metal objects, leading to her being deployed almost constantly during the succession war but this also caused her to become disillusioned with the war, so when was wounded in a battle in the mud kingdom she fled and was labeled as a deserter, she ended up in the rainforest where she met Ghost's Rainwing father illusion.

Permafrost stayed in the rainforest for a few years raising Ghost but eventually decided to leave and return to the ice kingdom, but on their way back through the mud kingdom they were caught up in a battle between the Icewing and Mudwing armys. Permafrost hid Ghost in the marsh them attempted to lead the nearby battalion away.

Ghost never saw his mother again wether she was taken prisoner by one of the armies of if she was killed in the battle he may never know.
so now he wanders the old battle fields in search of any sign of what may have happened to her, but all he ever found was a blood stained steel gauntlet.
