Description A light, as a dim flicker in the darkness,
Taunting and illuminating my hesitant way.
Daunting eyes falling to the cement.
Each pebble that lays, rested so to pluck my wonder.

And I’d watch them, as their simple courses vibrated,
So easily afflicted by the tap of a walk.
No choices surround their dull, grey lives,
And they tremble with the fear of this, until eroded to dust.

Lest, they are nothing but pebbles.
Their lives, less dismal than those many would bear.
A dullness is custom to them,
No thought or emotion pulses their grey matter.

Wrapped in tarnished smoky suits,
Pulsing their beaten lives on their paths.
Life flickers dimly in their blank features.
Not enough spark to pry them to break the habit.

They pass the millions of clones,
Different, yet strangely the same.
A dullness is custom to them,
No thought or emotion pulses their grey matter.

Blanketed in joyousness and cheer,
Alive with the youth that covers its pavement.
Chubby faces wrapped in buttery grins.
Until theirs a figment that doesn’t fit in.

Teasing and taunting, inflicts as a constant.
'Till loneliness seems a shatterproof door,
A dullness becomes constant to them.
No thought or emotion can pulse through grey matter.

A cold and abrasive outer core it yields,
A life untold, but uncontrollable by their standards.
Everyone’s had their turn to be a stone,
Hoping life tosses them a kick to ripple the pond.
