Can everyone calm down on the baseball/cricket debates/history lessons. Seriously, just enjoy the art.

Baseball. It was establish in 1869 and helped healed the nation after the civil war. It gave America a much needed escape from the stress and horror of world war one and world war two. Baseball helped rekindled friendship and respect between America and Japan after world war two. I won't insult cricket because I'm sure it's a great game and I respect it. And without cricket baseball wouldn't have been invented, but Baseball has had a greater impact on the world. Go to any country and you will see people with a New York Yankees hat on. "Baseball is only dull to people with dull minds"

Where did you get that statistic from? "The first ODI was played on 5 January 1971 between Australia and England at the Melbourne Cricket Ground." - Wikipedia One Day International. I'm assuming your from America... Out of curiosity does anyone still play cricket over there? Like at a club level or something? I've seen Canada play a few times but I don't think I've ever seen an American team. I think a game between America and Australia would be interesting to watch.

I knew cricket first, and so will always love it more
In comparison, I find baseball kinda...boring, eh?
I mean, cricket is just as much of a mental game (you know, powerplays, field placements, using the right bowler etc), along with the fact that you have to be an all rounded fit person for cricket.
But, true, that baseball's much more matter of factly.

you are not a dork, Hetalia is great and interesting, itΒ΄s one of the most original parodies or History IΒ΄ve ever seen and it has lots of social critic... those who say Hetalia is retarded fail at history and social skills for sure. I am not saying they have to like Hetalia, but not being able to see the epic impact it has on the public and their points of view... they arenΒ΄t good critics (And I am sure they never actually read the comics or the blog at all)

I am going to be a complete history geek and now give a history lecture on cricket in America.
Cricket was very popular in Colonial America. In fact General George Washington played cricket at Valley Forge. Cricket continued to remain popular in the United States until the 1860s with the advent of baseball. Two of the major reasons for the rise of popularity of baseball was that a baseball bat was easier to make then a cricket bat and in America cricket was seen as a rich person's game, while in England it was a game everyone enjoyed. However, despite the declining popularity it was still played, particularly in Philadelphia, until the World War I. When the International Cricket Council barred the American teams from being in international cricket games since they were not part of the British Commonwealth. In 1903 the Philadelphia cricket team toured England and usually evenly matched with the British cricket teams. The oldest international sporting rivalry is actually between the American and Canadian cricket teams and dates back to 1844. Currently, cricket is actually beginning to see a bit of a resurgence in popularity in the United States.
Did I mention I love the picture? Well, I do.
