The clock on the wall read 1:17 in the morning. Sakura lay in her bed fast asleep. All of her clothes were neatly folded and sat on top of the dresser ready to be put back into her backpack in the morning when she left. The room was impeccably clean, almost as if no one was staying in it in the first place.

While it may have looked peaceful, the young pinkette's sleep was troubled, thought you couldn't really tell. She did not toss or turn, but there was a crease between her eyebrows that signalled some kind of distress. Her covers were pulled up to her chin and she lay on her side.

The room was utterly silent; the only sound was the ticking clock on the wall.

Suddenly, the sliding door slid open and a dark figure was kneeling on the ground half in and half out of the room. The sound woke Sakura, but she did not move. Only her eyes opened. She did not want the intruder to know she was awake.

Judging by the amount of noise made, she assumed it was some kind of petty thief.

The sliding door closed and she heard the intruder panting, like he was out of breath. Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion, why had he not attacked her yet?

Very slowly, she turned onto her side to get a view of the intruder. He was hunched over on his knees, coughing up blood.

The medic in Sakura told her to go over and help; she removed the covers and grabbed a kunai from under her pillow just in case.

As her feet touched the ground, the intruder coughed once more before his knees gave out and he lay in a heap on the floor. It was then that Sakura recognized the
face.

"Oh my God, Sasuke!"
