This is really good! I'm not sure the thin black lines add a lot to the piece, maybe they need to be pushed back a little into the background because clearly it is the face that is and should be the major focus :].

wow. I feel very unworthy to be your friend. This is coming along amazingly! I really want to see the finished painting. I think i'll favorite this as well! I really like the colors and all the little blue and black lines. Keep working on it!

I've tried using acrylic a few times, but frankly, I'm awful at it. I just feel that acrylic is less forgiving. I'm painting this on a big piece of watercolor paper, and the thin black lines are just pen

is that common for artist that paint with watercolor to use pens?... and i reckon its a certain kind of pen/ink?
i guess the everything is cheaper when workign with watercolor?
like paints/canvas/brushes
what do you suggest i buy to start off?

Ummm . . . well, to tell you the truth, I'm just starting out with watercolors myself, so I'm not exactly sure if I'm the best one to ask. I'm just using some old brushes that I found in our basement (I think my mom used to paint a little) and a normal black pen from my dad's desk drawer
