Greetings, how have you been? Hope fine and well!
At the moment I have been studying for several exams but at the same time I wanted to draw something to cheer me up, which could be simple enough to not take away time from study and at the same time to challenge me a fair bit.
I've been wanting to draw something related to Zelda for about a while, especially regarding Skyward Sword, which has my favourite cast of characters and, especially, my favourite incarnation of Zelda. I'm surprised I didn't draw her until now, aside from a collaboration with a friend of mine, because I love her design so very much: pink, bangs and her cute pink dress are an easy recipe to like a design, lol! Her silly yet emotionally strong personality is a weakness of mine! Without spoiling anything, I was moved by her character arc, among many others in the game! Also her relationship with Link, so cute and deep I'm melting!
I wish Nintendo could have been finishing the mode in which she could have been playable! It would have been dope! In any case, I'm planning to draw more SS Zelda art because she deserves her fair bit of love!
I was also in the mood to draw something in an older anime style and here it came the idea to associate a particular scene from the game (possibly set in the skies, to fit well with Miyazaki's leitmotives) with Studio Ghibli's signature style. It may be a common concept for a fan art but we know that Ghibli and Zelda are a match made in heaven! Especially with Breath of the Wild and Skyward Sword!
I know that there aren't many similarities but for being the first time I'd drawn with this style and for a drawing I did in my spare time (OK, sometimes I dedicated most of my day here than on my book, mea culpa) I don't complain!
