I've just been fiddling around with making a css-only layout.It's for an imaginary site I've called deskWeb.com.
I haven't really done much html in a long time, so I'm trying to hone my skills once more.
This one is still just a rough picture of what I've done so far. I've gotten the entire layout done with div's and css. The text in the top-right of the header are navigation links which are also drop-down menus with submenus. I'm still working on the color scheme, as well as a news scroller between the header and body, as well as a tabbed footer (well, in my head the footer links will literally be tabs jutting out from the body).
Anyway, just a phase of the work. Any comments welcome~

I warn you, though, that you -must- use firefox to look at it. I forever detest IE because of its incompatibility with uncommon css styles. So, the link hover drop-down menu deal in the top-right corner won't work right.

Yeah, I need something to buffer the space between the main content area and the footer area, so it doesn't look like the text is falling into oblivion.
And yeah, the green is nice. I want to make it in orange and a dark grayscale version. And most likely blue, too. All dark themes, though.

Yep, dark themes are awesome.
And it's not hard, really. It's like math, or grammar. You learn things in levels. Gradually, those levels build upon each other. And if you stop using your knowledge of those things, the levels just topple over like gelatin.
I'm done working on it for tonight, though. I just have to make one more smiley image for the footer area.
