It seems like everyone's become more on-edge lately, but it's not that hard to guess why. Despite the efforts of jewelies like Quartz, it seems like every appearance of a rift brings fear and alarm. Even when the strangers who pass through are benevolent, their emergence seems to hint to something more... sinister. These jewelies, what does their appearance mean, and why is this happening again? The rifts that appeared five years ago came and went with similar fear, but this... feels different.

Though there's theories and discussions everywhere, that doesn't bring much peace. The next rift appears rimmed with orange-green smog, almost speckling the air as it disturbs the crowd. There seems to be an almost... sweet smell, like freshly cut fruit. It's almost disarming, if not for the jewel maned dragon that begins emerging from the portal. Their body seems mismatched, patches of speckled white standing stark against their warm body. Even their wings are different, and that fact along causes whispers. No one can remember seeing another jewelie with wings like that...

Someone whispers about their patchwork appearance, as if they shouldn't look like they do. It's hard to tell if they were born with such markings, or if something happened to them.

And so, they ask again- Is this new jewelie going to be a friend, or foe?
