Personality: Gráinne is rather interesting personality-wise. She is at an in-between age, not a child, not a full-blown adult - but she definitely wants to be. She yearns for the respect the older horses recieve, and for the prospect of love. Gráinne is not above skimping out on her duities though - like anyone who is placed in a servant's position, she will often find loopholes around her chores and jobs. After all, a tired horse needs to rest - she goes back to her duties after a break though, as everyone works better if they get some sleep now and again. This is obviously another reason the other servants don't particularily enjoy her -- she gets away with quite a bit, but still manages to get her work done. Secretly, Gráinne cares little for the Queen, and knows she's at her wit's end with the King. Something's gotta give, or something's gonna break.

Patient • Gráinne is almost freakishly patient - she can wait for months for something to happen, especially if she wants it. It really does get a little weird though - boarderline obsessive maybe?

Intellegent • She's a smart cookie with a good upperclass education under her belt. She was to have been a Governess, but alas there are no children to teach in the castle.

There are strange secret passageways and tunnels as well as the ever-intersting servant's walks behind rooms. These are her favorite ways to move cleaning supplies around as well. She also enjoys trying to figure out what the King's Beasts are -- they seem to change seasonally.

Deviant • Goodness gracious - hope you never cross this young mare's bad side. She can be hell given the right circumstance, and will toss your bloody carcass under the bus if she needs to. Lazy • This one is a given for anyone her age. Well - more like anyone in the 1st City really. But yes - she can be rather lazy and a bit of a slacker as well. But who really likes cleaning bedrooms for a living and running errands? Not Gráinne, thats for certain.

History Overview: Gráinne has lived within the confines of the 1st City her entire life, and suprisingly -- not as a servant. She was very much from a wealthy family as her father had been a loyal and successful knight under King Henkel. But her parents decided it would be best to offer their only daughter as both a symbol of their loyalty and as a gesture of good faith to the Royal Family. They had four sons already - three which became knights, one who became a baker. (He was always the odd one out). After all, her family wasn't in need of another mare at home. Her mother was still very much alive (as she is now) and having another mare at home was just pointless. So they sent her off originally to be of use as a Governess. That didn't really work. Gráinne often questions her parents true motives, but she really doesn't care anymore. She took a position as a Lady in Waiting for the first few years, then moved on to include cleaning the bedrooms of the Royal Family as well. She honestly finds servant's work to be both a daunting test of a task and somewhat of a comfort in the routine. She generally is looked down upon by the other servants though. Gráinne works hard to get her few jobs done daily, then usually goes off to spend the rest of her day exploring the castle or the City. All while still being at the beck and call of any member of the Royal Family who calls on her. Such is the life of a servant, no? She visits her parents every so often to check up on them.

Foalhood: Little Gráinne was born mid Spring as the fifth foal of Adalína and Asklepios. She was years younger than Lir, so she was most often home alone with her parents, practically living as an only child. Gráinne was a bright, curious, and responsive child, spending most of her free time attending City lectures and practically living in the library. Her father Asklepios had been Captain of The Guard for years, and had retired to help support his only daughter - the war-hardened horse certainly had a soft spot for his children, no one could argue that. Her mother Adalína however, was less than thrilled to be having a daughter. Well - she was probably over the whole 'having children' thing in all reality, and remained rather uppity about the situation. Her sons were all out of the house, off doing whatever it was they did, and she was fine with that. She wished Conall had been a knight rather than a baker though. A baker was just a low blow to their family status, and that status was one thing Adalína was obsessed with maintaining. Gráinne had a bit of a back and forth childhood, her mother begin stern and demanding, and her father being lenient and relaxed. It was an interesting way for the little filly to grow up, but she'll tell anyone she would have had it no other way.

Young Adult: At the ripe old age of fourteen, Gráinne was prompted by her parents to go serve the King and Queen as a Governess, but alas there had been no children to teach. So her mother, who had actually been a Governess to the Queen herself, convinced the mare to let her daughter serve as Lady in Waiting. It was fine as far as Gráinne was concerned, as she respected the Royal Family greatly and viewed service as a sort of pledge of honor. She also may or may not have been fascinated with the King since she was little since her father told her such great tales of conquest and victory. Since then, Gráinne has been working in the castle, and her job has developed over the past four years. Gráinne works as a chamber maid when not preoccupied caring for the Queen, and occasionally feels a little over-priveledged compared to the older servants who could easily have her job. This has led to a rather tense relationship between her and the other servants and maids - especially when it comes down to giving orders. Gráinne, though a normally boisterous and confidant young mare, tends to get a little uneasy around her fellows, and really hates cleaning the bedrooms with others since nobody seems do clean the same way she does. Lets just say it ruffles her feathers a bit.
