Description  Commission for JaegerPony of his character Double Kicker! 
 
 She's practicing her jumping skills in the desert of Appleloosa! 

 I hope you like her! 




 On a side note... This is the very first time I used a drawing tablet. I drew the lines with a mouse, but I did the whole background and shading with the tablet. It took me double the time to finish the entire thing than it usually takes me, but I kinda like the "painting" vibe the finished drawing gives. It was definitely harder for me to use the tablet, and I'm not sure if the result looks better than my average drawings

 Well yeah, I've always used either a touchpad or a mouse, but I'm happy with the result too!

 Sadly tho I have to admit that the tablet experience was so stressful for me that it made me feel extremely bad... The fact that it took me like 3 times the time I usually take to draw a piece, and I still couldn't understand how to fully use a drawing tablet made me so frustrated about my art that I haven't been able to draw a complex piece since then, cause whenever I open one I just feel stuck and scared that my art will never be enough unless if I learn how to use a tablet...

Aw, I'm sad to hear that But trust me, I think you did a terrific job for your first try! If you hadn't mentioned it in description, I wouldn't even have realized you hadn't used your usual medium, the quality is just as good as your other drawings So, believe me, in my opinion your art is already enough, even if maybe you still have to learn a few things on how to use a tablet. As for the time, it's always like that: the first time you try to do something in a new way, it will take you much longer than you normally do, but experience makes it right: I'm confident that, with a bit of practice you'll be able to create art in shorter and shorter time, without renouncing to your high quality Don't worry, dear

 Thank you! I guess for now I'll just keep using a mouse, I'll try to go back on the drawing tablet whenever I'm less stressed!

This is quite wonderful!  I can almost feel the dry, hot air as I look at this scene.  I really like the shadows of the pony and the fence and the hazy hills in the background.  A very nice "dry west scene".

It looks super lovely! I know it took a long time but it's just because your still new to it! You'll get faster if you keep at it :3 I do enjoy seeing the brush strokes
