Gotta go fast!Yah! This is the official "New" model of the Sally Acorn, which is used in the latest Sonic covers.
Basically the whole model was made again to become more similar to the drawing versions! In addition to have the blades and other non-visible elements. hohoh
Oh yah, a special thanks to Vincent Lovallo, Paul K. and Ian in the developing of the character!

Whenever I see her use those blades I am STRONGLY Reminded of another Sega work, Virtual-On. The Apharmd Series Virtuaroids have "Beam Tongfers" (as Sega called them in the weapon naming) that are used in close range in quite the same way as she uses her blades, and I do wonder.... was there any inspiration from them in the inclusion of these as her weapon? jdmwanganpichu.deviantart.com/… for a glance, sure its a Super Deformed version but, shows them in battle placement.
Given I used that particular mecha extensively in playing those games, I always get a nostalgic kick when I see her dicing up a hostile machine.

Oh nop, the blades were already used in the Mecha Sally, even before the creation of the new Design. The light/energy version was created, because there was no way to hiding the Iron Blades in the arms of the "organic Sally".

Heh I'm so used to her new design now and seeing her with these blades I forgot her original iteration of them on the Mecha Sally were the Iron Blades, oops!
Either way... when I saw her give a badnik a good slashy with them for the first time, I was giddy the way someone seeing Godzilla punching a giant Robotnik mech would be. That was just COOL, keeping those on her.
